Actually, I didn't do a single thing; a Most Wonderful DUer bought my brand new, shiny DU member star in my name. I didn't get any Christmas presents yesterday, but here I go and I wake up on Boxing Day and there it is...

I don't know whether this nice person -- I already knew she was a nice person -- would want me to splash her name hereabouts, so I won't, but her desire to "pay it forward" has made me very happy and it has sort of proven part of the missing ingredient that this Christmas was lacking, for me. Here's the rest of hat missing ingredient: this time around I could actually afford a donation (last time was a struggle; this time I was just procrastinating) and so I'm going to stop procrastinating and follow her example by paying some forward...

Yep, DU is great. I keep going away, and the last couple of times I faded away I thought maybe I wouldn't come back. But I keep coming back. It's hard to get away from DU. Like a more benevolent version of Kathy Bates' character in Misery. Though perhaps I could have picked a better analogy... :-)
