1. Makintg your own beer is legal, assuming you are in the US
and not in a dry county somewhere.

I agree with you on the chickens - I often wish I could have my own, but they don't allow that in town. Bastards.

3. Making beer and wine is legal
at least in most states it is. Federal laws allow 100 gallons per year per adult in the household.
Now distilling is a whole other thing. I think that should be legal too and there is a small underground of distillers but I doubt if it will get legalized for a long time.

4. I Don't Know About The Loitering
making beer and wine is legal usually

making distilled liquor is usually not but should be

weed, yes

chickens in your backyard, ?

the loitering thing, if I owned a store I wouldn't want people just congregating around the store, leaving trash, etc.

Prostitution should be

Heroin for pain should be

I'm really for legalization of most if not all drugs, with regulation and licensing, etc.

6. Downloading music off the internet
Really, just charge a surcharge for CD burners, iPods, or even internet connections and let people go to town. The kiddies who want free crap will come and go, and music collectors looking for rare songs, import-only b-sides, live tracks, and out of print stuff can trade in peace.

My personal opinion is that the record companies freaked out when they saw how much non-Top 40 stuff was being shared on Napster. Surprise, surprise, people don't give a shit about their "superstars".

that is a perspective I never even considered, and really thought provoking. I've never thought about it, but it is so true. They are trying to squeeze music down to the lowest common denominator through shows like TRL which are nothing but marketing vehicles. They want to market to the most people for the lowest cost, and the only way to do it is to restrict the diversity in the industry, otherwise the number of people reached is drastically reduced. WoW. Same with youtube, I think. I think all this stuff should be available for a fee, I guess I feel the artist should be paid...I don't think 99 cents is too much to ask, either that or it should be like google ads or something where the computer program figures out what ads are on the page and the artist is paid through the advertising. Or some combination of both. I think television stations are officially dead, I hope 2007 will bring the final death knell, even to many of the non-specific subject matter cable stations. The industries are gonna have to cater to the consumer instead of changing the consumer.

In any event, they should finally know by now that they will NEVER be able to restrict access to anything over the internet. It just ain't gonna happen. The levee is breeched, so to speak, and there is no turning back.

edit: another thought I have is that they are in bed with the tabloids and that's why we see so much Lindsay Lohan/Paris Hilton/Britney Spears genitalia running around all the time. I don't have a moral objection to it at all, but I do think people (here and in general) are just playing into their hands when they link it and spread it all over the internet. It's the same reason Janet Jackson flashed her boobie: marketing. It's all one industry, just like scientist use publications to publish their work in and get grants, these stars/starlets use the tabloids as publicity machines probably because no one is watching tv, or mtv anymore.

10. Weed, cocaine, heroin, prostitution.
Heavily taxed and federally regulated. Stop the stupid "war on crime." The idiots running it have never heard of the 18th and 21st Amendments.

Come & get me, Freepers :7

13. Bread is a gateway substance
that leads to the use of heavier substances, such as cream cheese and peanut butter. It's made out of a material called dough. As little as two pounds of this "dough" can kill a mouse.

14. 24 hour bars and casinos
Here in my state, the casinos have to close for an hour once a day. That has always seemed silly to me. Let the owner of the casino decide what hours to stay open. Same with bars. Why is it bad to sell drinks at 3 am? Do people get drunker then?

Drinking beer in a public park. Public intoxication laws are in place to take care of the drunks.

Renewing your car tags without an annual inspection. That can be a real ripoff in some states.

Parking. Unless your car interferes with traffic flow, you should be able to park it on any street at any time along the curb.

15. I've always thought that if cigarettes are legal, weed should also be
I think all drugs should be legal even though I have never used any illegal drugs in my life.

16. Anything consenting adults want to do with each other.
:hi: Some states ...*cough* North Carolina *cough*... have outdated, archaic laws in regards to personal relations between adults. C'mon, folks, it's the 21st century, not the Dark Ages. :eyes: :grr:

The right wing's reaction to that court decision is what finally made me a full-fledged liberal!
