9. My thoughts exactly...
The first time I saw them do their little song-and-dance routine, my immediate reaction was "...and Falwell's upset by Tinky Winky???"

;-)

15. From the Wiggles FAQ
"Are the Wiggles married and do they have any children?" (Polite way of asking, "Are the Wiggles gay or what?")

"Murray- married with two children
Greg - married with two children
Anthony - married with a child due in Feb 2004
Jeff - single with no children"

18. They soon will.
I have it on very good authority that one of the Wiggles is in fact gay, and living with his long time partner here in Melbourne.

11. Most of the Wiggles were in a rock band called the Cockroaches...
but figured out there was big money in playing to kids. Every gig is sold out and man, are they rich now! My little one is 5 now and has spent much of it glued to the tv watching these guys. She was a big Dorothy the Dinosaur fan.

14. Oh yeah
Big-time Wiggles household here. They make my gaydar go WOOP-WOOP-WOOP (even Dorothy, whom I think I think is a lesbian in the Southern maiden-aunt tradition) but it seems they're all straight. Two or three of them have degrees in early-childhood education, so the idea of playing to kids didn't come out of the blue.

16. Sure but
I have a hard time respecting anyone who says "mashed banahna," much less sings it. Those guys creep me out, and so do the furries they hang out with. Or are they plushies? I get them mixed up.

19. Yes, dammit, we know about the Wiggles!
They aren't as bad as some, though. My kids still enjoy some Barney to fall asleep by.

So one is gay, huh? That ought to set off some fire and brimstone over in Virginia Beach VA. (Won't they ever learn?)

I just can't decided on Greg or Anthony. I try to encourage my youngest son to watch it, but he's not as into anymore sadly and cookie monster and Elmo just sadly doesn't do it for me. :(

25. Jack is nuts about them.
Mesmerized. To the point where mommy is trying to wean him away a little.
Jack is 18 months old.
We are in the grocery store. One shopping cart for groceries and one for Jack.
We turn a corner and there is a display of boxes of some kind of fruit/gummy-bear things with THE WIGGLES picture on it.
Jack's eyes are out on stalks.
"DIS, DIS!" he shouts, pointing.
"WIDGIES!", or something like that.
I roll the cart next to the display and he begins to load as many boxes as he can grab. Two, six, ten, a cart FULL of Wiggles and Jack.
He is in heaven.
I try to explain that he can't have all of them. He protests, but eventually I am able to whittle it down to two boxes. Jack wants one in each hand.
A little later, when he's dropped them and is distracted by something else, I sneak one of the boxes away.

We get home and I read the ingredients. Mostly sugar and some fruit juice. They are advertised as "Fruit Yummies" or some such.
Jack tries one and spits it out.
Yuck.
All he wanted was the box with their picture on it anyway.
;-)
