I feel like I'm in the Mafia

Right before Xmas I found out some people in our company who I didnt' think got bonuses got bonuses. So I thought I should too and said so to the head of our Dept. I got a bonus.

Then I decided I didn't want to spend Xmas at my sister's cause she has a big dog and GF's allergic and her inlaws who always come are kind of creepy - so I said, I'm staying home this year. And I did. And the world didn't end.

Then after Xmas I was travelling with my parents and we stopped at a McDonalds. I went in while they waited in the car, and for some reason it took forever. I was mad cause I felt I was already giving up good nutrition, the only point of going there was because it was supposed to be FAST. So when the manager handed me my bag and apologized for the wait, I said, I think you should give me some free cookies. And he did.

Then yesterday in our work cafeteria, they ran out of soup and when I asked for some more, the new Su chef came out and apologized and said today's lunch would be on him.

It's kind of like I made that first move toward assertiveness and suddenly it's like I've got the Jedi Mind trick working for me.
