I'm seeing the psychiatrist tomorrow.
I'd say, ask me anything, but nobody ever posts on my threads.

14. zoloft is for common depression
not someone who says they are "crazy".

Zoloft takes 2 to 4 weeks to make things change.

Are you in a place where you can take that?

please answer.

18. I have major depression and have ben
taking Zoloft for some time now, and it helps. I was just trying to be funny when I said I'm crazy. Thanks for being concerned. That's nice.

I have to call and make an appointment with one tomorrow. I'm already in therapy, but need someone besides my GP to prescribe meds, since they aren't working.

10. The clinic where I get my flu shot has a drive-thru,
but for the psychiatrist, I have to park and go in.

16. So a Vegas wedding would take less time than a visit to the headshrinker?
Is that really a good thing?

8. I recently stopped seeing mine.
The counseling really helps.

I've told other people this: if you want responses to your posts you must submit pictures of yourself in partial undress and then quip, "Whatever am I to do?" IOW, don't take the lack of response personally. We are a simple bunch sometimes, we DUers.

My husband still enjoys it, but I'm sure no one else would.

19. Have a good session!
Is this a first visit, or a regular appointment? The first time I ever went to one was several years ago, months after my divorce, when I realized I wasn't "just getting over it." I was getting deeper. I poured out everything I was feeling. It was excrutiating and cathartic at the same time. I walked out of her office afterwards feeling like an anvil had been lifted off of my shoulders. It was incredibly liberating, releasing all that emotion (and walking out with Celexa samples in hand), feeling optimistic for the first time in so long, that I could feel better than I had felt for so long.

Whether this is a regualr visit or a first time, I hope you will feel good about taking a step toward feeling better.

23. Does Zoloft make you gain weight?
One of my biggest fears about changing my ineffective Wellbutrin for an SSRI is the weight gain.

I need to see a real psych soon instead of my well-meaning but too-busy and not-trained-for-this GP. And then I need to see a therapist. But a major symptom of my depression is the inability to take any action, so...sigh. It's a vicious circle.

Good luck with your visit!
