Yeah, you, I'm talkin to you! Why didn't anyone tell me that Steve Earle was on the final episode??

I just watched it, been saving up the last few episodes on TiVo to watch all at once, and there in the final moments, was Steve, fake beard and all.

Damn that's the best show ever made on TV. And this was its best season.

Steve was just the icing on the cake.

2. I know, I remember from 2 seasons ago...but didn't know about the finale
I wasn't expecting him to show up, I, uh, follow Steve (don't say "stalk"!), and hadn't heard he was going to make this cameo. It was cool. Not sure why they bothered with the fake beard, but I enjoyed it anyway.

4. Yeah, but I heard not til 2008
Always worth the wait. What an amazing show. They outdid themselves this year, I think. That last episode was stunning.

5. I often watch an episode twice, and ....
sometimes mute it to read parts of it that are hard to understand .... and sometimes read the plot summaries on the HBO site. They are such dense with detail dramas that I miss things without it.

6. My husband does that
It can be hard to follow. I have to "translate" for him a lot.

We get a good laugh out of trying to figure out anything that Snoop says.

8. Who are your favorite characters?
Omar is my all time favorite - an openly gay bad ass stick-up man who robs drug dealers blind and never gets caught. There's NO shame in his game. What a character!

Of all the corner boys - I like Dukey and Michael. I was hoping Michael would resist the temptation of hooking up with Marlo. That should be interesting next season. I have a feeling that something will happen to Michael due to that ring he took from officer Walker.

Of the politicians, I love/hate Senator Davis- sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeit!

9. Omar, and Bubbles
And of course Waylon, because it's Steve Earle.

I also love Bunk. He gets all the best lines. We had to replay the one on the finale where he refers to his sergeant as "that John-Goodman-off-his-diet-looking-motherfucker."

I like Randy, and really fell for Dukie at the end. I could see Michael going bad, but like you of course I was hoping he wouldn't.

I was really sad about Bodie, too.

10. He was on the first season also. On the next season, their last, I feel he'll
have a larger role in helping with the redemption of Bubbs, a man with a great heart, bad luck, and a horrible addiction. Kima's not coming up to see him at first was reminiscent of McNulty's reluctance at visiting her at the hospital when she was shot in season one.

I'd read that the show's creators were going to have him back so it was a real treat to see him at the end of season four's final episode.

He wasn't in season two but one of his greatest tunes,"I Feel Allright", was used to end the season's final episode when Nick went back to the union hall.

As far as this being the best season of the best show ever done on television I couldn't agree more. It's some of the best work ever done on film period.A video novel. It blows me away. I've got the first three seasons on DVD and will buy them all as they come out.

The next should be their best yet. I'm going to hate to see it go but the creators said they wanted a five year period to tell their story. They got their approval for a fifth year when they got their approval for the fourth season from HBO.

11. I read he was going to be back this season
in an interview with him way back when, but then we he didn't show up, I forgot about it. Then there he was. I thought it was great, bringing him back to help Bubbles. Steve himself has fought and I'm sure continues to fight those demons, and it was very moving to see him there with Bubbs, the addict who has just surrendered his soul. In season 1, when he got clean with Waylon's help, I was so pulling for him, but of course I knew it wouldn't last.

And yes I remember clearly when "I Feel Alright" was used in the finale of season 2.

I used to think Sopranos was the best TV ever, best written and acted, and it has had its brilliant moments, but the Wire over its arc has far transcended it. And just like David Chase wants his show to go out at the right time, it makes sense for the Wire to come to a close.
