12-Year-Old Charged With Disorderly Conduct (She Wet Her Pants In School)
Thanks to cub-reporter Strawman for this 'scoop'

<snip>

DANVILLE, Pa. -- A 12-year-old special education student in Montour County, Pa., is charged with disorderly conduct.

Authorities said she deliberately wet her pants at school. Her mother disagrees.

The child's mother told the Press Enterprise it happened because her daughter was frightened by the principal.

The girl had been preparing a holiday lunch with her classmates and teachers at Danville Middle School on Dec. 20. Her mother said when her daughter refused to go to the kitchen to wash some pots and pans, teachers summoned Principal Kevin Duckwork, who confronted the girl.

She then wet her pants.

Her mother said the girl is terrified of Duckwork and has wet herself during previous confrontations with him. But Danville Police Chief Eric Gill said school officials are at their "wit's end" with the girl, and they believe her actions were deliberate.

Police told the girl's parents they could probably avoid a fine if they agree to have the girl do community service.

1. When did it become illegal for a kid to wet their pants?
For whatever reason! Next we're going to be charging kids for crying!

2. There are kids that deliberately wet themselves in school.
As a way of acting out.

Shit, there are kids that deliberately pull down their pants and deliberately piss on their teachers as a way of acting out.

That said, I don't know what sort of adult in charge of that sort of student would press charges on a student like that.

THAT said, I doubt urination was the only example of disorderly conduct in this particular case that led the principal to call the police and press charges.

33. Chuck has some offbeat ways of romancin' the ladies
There are a couple of bootleg videos which have been circulating around for years. And they are mindboggling.
He's still an American Genius, though

21. Thank you
I was hoping some other sick bastard (that's a complement, btw) would catch that one :)

BTW...I've noticed your screen name before and wondered if it was related to the "That Guy Syndrome" segment from an episode of "This American Life" which I thought was really brilliant. Basically this guy decides to use Mitchum deodarant because of the absence of slick ads for it. He doesn't wanna be "that guy" who is manipulated by deodarant advertising. They then go on to discuss how not wanting to be "that guy" motivates all these other decisions.

26. I'm not familiar with that segment, but I have a friend who always...
doesn't want to be "that guy" who uses a cell phone in line, likes wine, no longer cares for John Fahey because other people have discovered his work, etc... and it really does dictate a lot of his actions.

I use the deodorant because it makes me smell like a sardonic, sleepy-eyed pothead. I would use Holden for my deodorant needs, but who the hell wants to smell like blood and alcohol?

10. I remember one who didn't bother to let down her pants, she just
did it and happily giggled when doing it.

If that isn't acting out, what the hell is?

And there were plenty of jackals who did far worse things, and considering freely peeing all over the place and having a laugh, and they got away with those acts too.

29. Agree. I work w/kids like this. The charges are a waste of time.
But probably not the only thing going on. Too bad. This would never happen at my school district.

3. This is precisely why the disabled should never have been let into society.
Harumph.

First we let the disabled go outside their homes and in public, and now they're peeing everywhere trying to take the world over, and some of them even get elected to congress.

Slippery slope, I tell you.

In ten years it will be illegal to be normal or above average. You mark my words.

The last time you and I went out to the VFW together you got so polluted on Pabst that you pissed yourself in the cab home. so THAT is ok but 'water sports' on the Internet Tubes are the downfall of society?

I hope the mother sues the shit out of the school system under the ADA guidelines for the mentally handicapped.

Seems to be that the principal is the one who is "challenged" though...

It should go to a judge at some point. I'd like to know if a judge throws this out and tells the school to quit wasting the time of the criminal justice system!

23. Emotional behavioral disorders also fall under special education...
Some EBD students do act out through urination or defecation.
Or the principal could be a jerk.
The article really does not contain enough information from which one could draw an informed conclusion.

24. I wonder if she was afraid to ask permission to go to the bathroom...
or if her "refusal" to wash pots and pans was due to her need to relieve her bladder.

If the child is acting out of defiance, the special educators need to work with the kid to bring her around...not sentence her to public humiliation. It sounds to me like the frustrated school officials were seeking revenge in taking this action.

(Community Service)

Let's emberrass her in public by making her clean garbage off the roadside which will teach all the special needs people that this is what will happen if you soil yourself in fear.
