Relax, have a drink, and recap your day.
Let's see--woke up at 7:30 am, got the kidlet off to school. Went back to bed for an hour. Got up, showered, dressed, did my "dailies" at Neopets, lurked at DU for a bit. Went to the grocery store with ThinkBlue1966, and spent an hour carefully comparing prices and keeping track of what we had, so that I'd be able to splurge and get a box of Dove Chocolate Ice Cream bars, woo. Came home, put groceries away, had ham sandwich and pickles for lunch, checked DU again. Checked the mail--no student aid check yet, so it'll be here tomorrow. However, there *was* a package from a certain DU'er with a couple of goodies for my little guy. Got Brendan's afterschool snack ready and on the table waiting for him by the time he got home at 4:00. Fed snack to small boy, gave goodies to small boy, listened to small boy make car SCREECH BANG CRASH VROOM noises while playing with said goodies. Made pretty-face pleading eyes at ThinkBlue1966 to wash the dishes waiting in the sink. Came back online, and am getting ready to go make dinner. After dinner, ThinkBlue1966 will do dishes again while I help Brendan with homework. Then it's laundry, vacuuming, a little more DU for good measure, and then bed.

How was your day? :)

1. woke up at 6:30am
didn't get any call for work...was back to sleep at 7am...woke up at 9am, and helped my friend Tom get ready to go back up to KS to finish his last semester before he gets his BA. Loaded his car, and cleaned his windshield/back window of his car...hmmm...said goodbye to Tom...

Aired out Tom's room, in which he stayed...he is a two pack a day smoker, and I let him smoke inside...room almost smells, somewhat okay...fed the dogs, and then came on DU...been sipping on Mt. Dew, and posting for a few hours...

3. Got out of bed at 9 a.m.
Took a pee; coughed a few times; blew my nose; brushed my teeth.
Took our the garbage. Had a cigarette. Went to the bathroom again (not pee this time :)) Went on the computer for about an hour and a half.

Got dressed. Went to my work to pick up my check. Cashed my check. Went to the gas station. Filled up my tank. Bought a pack of smokes. Got some lunch. Went home and ate. Watched the Young and the Restless.

Watched the new Speaker and Congress be sworn in. Took a shower.
Got dressed. Got in my car. Drove to my man's house and that's where I am now!

4. I'd love a glass of port. My husband is having beer with his boss
and a colleague, so I guess I can have a glass of port.

Anyway. Got up, got cleaned up and dressed, got the kids up and dressed, and delivered the first-grader to school. Ran several errands with the younger one. Came home, started the mountain of laundry, and impulsively began the task of taking down and carefully packing Christmas ornaments and decor. We'll leave the trees up sans ornaments but with lights until the weekend, but I'm taking everything else down. I've bitten off quite a bit more than I'd planned to chew today, but I've got to finish it up now.

6. Mmmm...I love port wine.
I like ruby port the best, tawny second best. Yes, ruby port is the cheapest. But it's also the sweetest.

I'm one of those freaks who adds a dash of honey and cinnamon to most other red wines, just to be able to tolerate the sourness.

5. Up at 3:20 am as usual
Off to work. Got a lot done there which was satisfying.

Came home and got the mail. In it was a late Christmas gift - a photo calendar featuring pics of my grandkids on every month. Very cute.

Mixed a drink and grabbed a granola bar. Sat down to pay some bills and am now relaxing at DU.

7. My Day
I woke up 3am made some coffee.
Check pm's still no pictures of naked duers
Surfed du until 4am went to first job (did very little work)until 6am
Then headed to real job arrived at 6:30 am.Spent most of the day building a curing booth for cast stone.
Left there around 3:20 p.m.
On the way home received a phone call from a customer who ordered $8,500 worth of product :7
Arrived at first job popped open a Modelo Special and played on du instead of working.Checked pm's(still no pictures of naked duers)
Stopped by and picked up some barbecue.
Then hit a quick trip convenience store and found a certain Ben and Jerry's Ice cream with the same name as a pretty smoking hot duer friend of mine.
I never tried it so when I do I plan to terrorize
Now I am at home relaxing.

11. Gosh, I had a good day
Got up at 8:20, bathed, came to work, have filed five documents, am working on one of two searches, had a client call my boss with rave reviews for me (this has never happened to my knowledge), got a nice note put in my personnel file, and tonight I have my writer's group to look forward to. The weather is very nice in Seattle today. So it's been an excellent day, not to mention Congress's going into Democratic hands at last. That little fact alone may have triggered my productivity.

12. Grill rant.
I bought a small table-top gas grill at Lowes today.
Planned to do a couple of steaks for dinner.
When I opened the box (SOME ASSEMBLY NEEDED, NO TOOLS REQUIRED) found that it had been opened and resealed.
The blister pack of nuts and bolts had been opened.
One CRUCIAL bolt was missing.
So was the 'included' screwdriver.
See...NO TOOLS REQUIRED because we INCLUDED the damn tool.
Ha! You thought NO TOOLS REQUIRED meant tightening a couple of wingnuts or something.
I've got lots of screwdrivers, but NOT the needed bolt.
No steak.
Leftovers.
Pissed.

14. I've got thousands of "no tool required" tools
Every one is a strangely-sized Allen wrench. None of them seem to be the same size as each other.

Recently I put together a chair and step stool. It said all I needed was a Phillips head screwdriver. That was technically true. It didn't say that I needed a Phillips head screwdriver that was less than one and a half inches long! That was the amount of space they left me in one of the spots to fit and turn the screwdriver.

I can't stand putting things together myself. I put together one cart that kept falling apart, no matter what we did. Finally, we used wood glue on all the parts so it would at least hold together while we re-screwed everything in. That has worked so far, but the directions say to "periodically re-tighten" all the screws! WHAT?????? Take everything off and out of it once a year, remove all the drawers and shelves, and periodically re-tighten everything? Are they high?

13. My day was an overwhelmingly shi*ty mess
The plumbing backed up for the second day in a row into the downstairs bathroom. The plumbers can't find the inlet to the main line (old house 1879) so they need to get a camera in the line; after they remove the toilet. The plumbers are busy on other projects and will try to come back again tomorrow so they can find the inlet, dig a hole and shoot a 100 ft snake in there to remove the roots they think are in there.

I just hate that because they are making me miss partial days at work and they want to charge me nearly $1000.00. I think they should pay me for missing work, well maybe not really but this totally sucks.x( *insert whining smilie here*

16. Fine, thanks for asking....
6:00 put alarm on snooze
6:30 finally got out of bed, got dressed, had breakfast, fed the cat
8:00 driving, had to follow a school bus-- grr
8:15 signed in at work, ran around getting materials ready for classes
9:00 breakfast duty
9:20 - 11:35 first grade and kindergarten classes: "snow" paintings (but it's 60 degrees today)
11:35- 1:00 recess duty (outdoors), gulp down lunch, clean up the room
1:00 - 1:45 kindergarten, more white paint to clean up
drive to next building
2:00 - 4:00 p.m. classes, grade 4 and 5 -- more paintings....
4:15 home at last; read mail, worked on lesson plans for next week and grocery list for tommorow
5:20 dinner: heated up some left overs
p.m. watched soap on tape, took a nap, watched Hardball and Keith while on computer

Exciting, huh? Can hardly wait to do it all over again tomorrow.

19. Woke up with a sore throat and so let the STBE see the kids
off to school (he's home on vacation until the fifteenth, god ). I didn't get out of bed until eleven at which time I had coffee and looked at the news. Showered, dressed and came downstairs to DU. Informed Starbucks Anarchist that I've lost my mind, then PMd everybody else I know to the same effect. Practiced piano for a long, long time with periodic DU checks. Folded laundry and tried to activate my tracfone. Finally the kids can find me any time they want to. Yay. Took my son to his piano lesson and shopped for groceries while he played. Went to dreadful local music store looking for the first volume of Mozart Sonatas - no luck. Came home and messed with the settings on my phone. Ringtone when children call is now the theme from "The Exorcist". Ordered Mozart online plus some cheesy arrangements of pop songs I like. Made pasta salad for dinner because nobody is hungry. Returned to old chaise to DU because what the hell, I've done nothing this entire day. Told children to stay away,,, I'm feeling very grouchy. Told them again, told them again, told them again until it finally sunk in. Now here I sit, with Benny at my feet. Three minutes until CSI.

I have been a waste of good food today.

20. Okay:
Got up, arrived for work 30 minutes late like usual, though they don't really care and/or notice.

Browsed DU at work.

Worked for 30 minutes.

Browsed DU.

Smoked.

Browsed DU.

Ate lunch/browsed DU (see a pattern?) :D

Finished first project, then informed that they're training me for a (undeserved, IMHO) promotion in the near future that involves less work and more money -- the American dream.

Performed "work" relevant to said potential promotion.

Smoked.

Browsed DU.

Chatted with co-workers/smoked.

Worked a bit.

Went home.

I'm sure I missed a few DU/smoking notices, though. :D

33. 6:15 am Woke up. Had a bath.
6:45 am Got DD up and showered and her breakfast. Made her lunch.

7:45 am Got to work

8:30 am Got a phone call from an EVIL BITCH that decided she knew more about my job than I did. Transferred her to a supervisor. I probaly will get written up. I don't care.

9:00 am to 3:30 pm Pretty boring day. Supervised a guy who had to go thru our training program *again* in order to keep his job. He's pretty much of a disaster. Look up antisocial in the dictionary and you'll see his pic.

3:30 pm Got an e-mail from a customer with so many f-bombs and CAPITAL LETTERS IN IT I started laughing my head off. I then investigated the situation and found that the customer is an idiot - and I dearly wanted to tell her so - but I played nice and apologized to her while politely explaining that we followed standard operating procedure..... Then I put a note in her customer profile: I copied and pasted the whole f-bomb loaded e-mail into it. Her e-mail is scheduled to be discussed at a meetign next week. She may get a "No More Business" letter. It was a "Don't mess with Julie" day. (I'm Julie and I was pissed!)

4:00 pm Came home. Flaked out in a La-Z-Boy with a very sore shoulder and headache.

5:15 pm Ate supper.

6:00 pm Did stuff around the house and played on the computer.

8:15 pm to 9:15 pm Waited on electric company to arrive because of a power outage.

9:15 pm Watched remainder of Ugly Betty (love that show!).

10:00 pm to 10:30 pm Yakked with my son.

10:30 pm Back on the computer.

35. My day was really boring...
Alarm went off at 6:30. I smacked the snooze button once, then got up, showered, got ready for work. Walked to the bus a bit before 8. Took bus, then subway, then shuttle...got to work at 9.

Answered email, did some research for a professor, screwed around on DU until lunch. Met up with 2 co-workers, took the shuttle into downtown Los Angeles. Spent WAY too much money at Bath & Body Works. Then ate chinese food for lunch. Was back at work by 1. Did more research, answered more email, went to a meeting. By 3, I decided I'd done enough work for the day, so I messed around on the internet until 5.

Back on the shuttle, the subway, then the bus. Got home at 6. Changed clothes, went for a 2.5 mile run. Saw a celebrity (welcome to LA). Got back from the run around 7. Made and ate dinner (a bagel with cheese, whee!). Took a bubble bath. Saved the cat from being burned by a candle.

Now I'm in my PJ's, chillin' in bed, watching Days of Our Lives and surfin'.

:hi:

36. Got up at 7:30, shower, breakfast, drove to my gig...
Recording session went from 10-4...we made demos of high school string orchestra music.

Turned on my phone and had a message waiting for me that mom was sick, and wasn't able to take care of my 8 year old. So I called to make sure she was ok, and find out if she needed anything.

Then I drove to Mr GoG's work to pick up Son of GoG the younger. Finally got home about 6.

Made sloppy Joes, corn, and salad for dinner and goofed around on DU.

Got Son of GoG in the tub and put bowings in the 2nd movement of Beethoven 6.

Played a game with the kiddo, then read a few chapters of Captain Underpants and the Wrath of the Wicked Wedgie Woman.

Goofed around on DU some more.

Going to bed soon!
