Prayers for my mom please, she just went into surgery for her kidney transplant...
After waiting for 9 years she has been called in for a kidney transplant. She has been on dialysis for 9 years and now it is her time. She has been at the hospital since 10:00am this morning. She went into surgery at 11:15 and will undergo three hours of surgery.

The donor as we know was a 14 year old, we have no idea who it was or what part of the country the kidney came from.

I am praying hard that all goes well. Please do the same.

6. All my best thoughts for you, your mother, and the family of her donor.
I hope everything goes perfectly. Dialysis is TOUGH--I can't even imagine the hell of 9 years worth of it. Here's hoping the brand-new kidney changes her life drastically for the better.

I am home right now and will be going to bed soon... I should be up at the hospital tommorrow afternoon to see what's going on, though my sis is staying at the hospital, she will two-way me when my mom comes out and let me know.

I'll keep you all posted.

16. Congratulations to Her!!!
I have FSGS and I'm B- so I have an idea what she's been through. Txs have an amazing success rate, and I'm sure she'll be pleasantly floored at how much better she feels and how soon she feels it! I'm so glad she got her tx - and my sincere sympthies to family of the donor. I hope the comfort and relief their gift will give helps lessens their grief.

25. UPDATE: Mom is out and still recovering
just talked to my aunt who is or was up there just for a few hours this morning.

I guess there were some minor complications, they did give her some blood, I am not sure if that is normal or what. She still seems to be under the anethesetic but my aunt has said that she did wake up a few times and said some meaningless stuff, so yeah she's out of it.

27. My mom apparently lost a lot of blood during the operation...
They had to give her blood transfusions. She almost died last night my sister says but other than that she pulled through.

God, it's been a long day.
