Bra Saves Woman When Bullet Falls From Sky

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Instead of being saved by the bell, a south Florida woman was saved by her bra.

Debbie Bingham was celebrating New Years with her family in St. Petersburg, when, suddenly, something fell from the sky. A celebratory gunshot had pierced Bingham's shoulder.

When she was rushed to the hospital, doctors said her six-dollar bra may have saved her life.

"He said I was very lucky, because what saved me was my bra strap," she said.

The 45-caliber bullet had hit Bingham’s bra strap and kept it from causing more damage than it did.
