Did the Cowboys get ripped off?
Just looking at the replay of the field goal attempt again. And it seems to me that Romo might have picked up the first down!! If the ball got to the one it should have been first and goal.

I guess they spotted it at the two from where the Seahawks started, but I am surprised that the play never got reviewed. Did they call it a fumble? Then why wasn't the ball at the five?

I wanna see the spot, because I think everyone was thinking endzone and had forgotten that first down marker.

1. I thought they got ripped off on the safety call...
it looked to me like the ball bounced out of bounds.

5. It did
that's why it was a safety. Offense cannot lose the ball in their own endzone without it being a safety. If they lose it in their opponent's end zone, then it becomes a touchback and the other team's ball.

2. I wondered about that at first.
But the replay pretty clearly showed him down at the two.

Plus, Parcells never complained about it.

7. Cool.
It is just that they never talked about the first down.

Although it would not bother me to see the Cowboys robbed.

11. Are they all that bad?
I just don't like Parcells. Otherwise my Cowboys-hating is a habit from the 1970s.

16. I've never understood why sports fans get into this kind of discussion.
What happened, happened.

17. Never understood?
Makes sense to this sports fan. See, sitting around, drinking a few beers and discussing the game like this would be boring: First Person: "Cowboys lost." Second Person: "Yup." First Person: "Seahawks won." Second Person: "Yup."

Rehashing the game, arguing over play calling, knitpicking key calls, etc. is what makes discussing games that have been played interesting. Does it change anything? No. Does it make for at least the possibility of lively discussion? Of course.
