2. Me too!
You know, it's funny watching shows like Get Smart and Star Trek, and seeing how much of the "fantasy" has become reality.

5. I love M*A*S*H!!!
Can't abide the sitcoms of today. I taped all the episodes of M*A*S*H, so when I have the hunger, I can put a tape in and enjoy.

12. Me too!
I first saw it when they ran it on the BBC back in the UK when I was a kid. It was broadcast without the laughter track and I loved how dry it was and how many subtle jokes and observations they could mix in with the slapstick.

Ever since then, I've only seen it with the laughter track and, even though I still enjoy it, nothing compares to my memories of seeing it for the first time without.

I recently bought the DVDs and, oh joy of joys, you can switch the laughter track off. I am in TV heaven again.

14. I've seen it, and I agree.
I was disappointed to find out that the guy who wrote the original M*A*S*H book was a bit of a wingnut and hated the librul slant of the TV show. Then I thought again and realized what a wonderful piece of ironic justice that was.

15. Alan Alda really fought against the laugh track
finally agreed to it EXCEPT in the Operating Room

3. It was one of my favorites too.
Of course, at the time, I thought it was a slapstick parody of spy film cliches. Now, with the wisdom of the years, I understand that it was in fact a fly-on-the-wall documentary of our intelligence services in action. If only we'd listened to what Mel Brooks was trying to tell us...

6. With all this wiretapping, I've been using the ol' "Code of Silence" bubble ...
...but unfortunately, it malfunctions most of the time.

10. I hear there is an underground group working on a more effective
Cone of Silence. Not sure how close they are to perfecting it. :-)

17. Didn't I hear they were making a new movie?
Edited on Sun Jan-07-07 07:08 AM by YankeyMCC
A quick internet search and I found no references but I thought I had heard that recently.

I loved that show, this will go on my DvD wish list.

Trivia question - How many doors does 86 go through in the opening sequence?

Found a movie reference: http://www.wouldyoubelieve.com/movie.html

Apparently Steve Carell will play Max - that sounds like a good choice to me.
