So...um...New York football fans?
Sorry.

Pats 37, Jets 16

===

(and I only add this because I am genetically incapable of feeling anything other than glee when a pro quarterback named "Manning" takes one in the teeth)

(is it me, or does Coughlin look eerily like that creepy dude from Poltergeist II?)

(check it out...Coughlin...)

(...creepy dude...)

(...Coughlin...)

(...creppy dude...)

(...anyway...)

Sorry.

:P

1. Pats rule!!!...
...they look very much right now like the (blessedly) "dull" team that won three Superbowls in their day-at-the-office manner...AND the Cowboys lost...in a peculiarly humiliating and embarrassing manner...nothing can be too bad, when that happens...

That is all.

On edit: Mr. Pitt was addressing anyone in New York who was a football fan, but point taken.

gets to try on MLB hitters not long after.

Let me know when we find out whether this was a good idea or a generational catastrophe.

13. Uncle Roger? Him and Andy are buds. He'll be back in NY
Edited on Mon Jan-08-07 12:18 AM by DainBramaged
He loves his millions. Don't know if my beloved Crankees will do much, team is old, pitching thin.

Back when he was last a yankee and pitched his last game here, he was changing jerseys every inning. a few weeks later, those signed jerseys appeared on the collectibles market.

Shame shame.

Regarding the Japanese "phenom", good luck. He'll get spanked good.

16. Roger is going to the Yankees to join Pettite
and they are welcome to him. Roger, while still the greatest pitcher of our lifetime, did the Pedro thing and went National League to milk a few more career years out of the weaker bats over there. He may find a return to the big-bat league a little jarring. His friend Andy, too.

We have Curt, Papelbon, Beckett (hopefully with head extracted from ass), Wakefield and this question mark from Japan. All in all, not the worst battery.

Oh yeah, and JD Drew, too. :eyes:

27. I think that Boston may get the nod again for the WC this year
One day Seinkbrenner will retire and the Yankees will be run like a baseball team again. It's been a lot of years since the magic of the 90's, and they are just too old and fractured to succeed.

Twice in a day -- unbelievable!
(Does that set an NFL record -- two teams from the same state losing wild card in the same day?)

Edited on Mon Jan-08-07 04:10 AM by WilliamPitt
Is it "baited" breath or "bated" breath (i.e. "abated," as in "stopped"? I've seen it both ways and am not sure.

Sorry about the Vikes, btw.

We Vikings fans are a hardy bunch (we have to be...4 times losing the Superbowl, and not being in it since the 1970s).

34. My Dad is, so I see a lot of games in person at the 'Stick.
I've been going since I was a kid watching Joe and Jerry play a little catch in the Ashtray by the Bay.

You're right though, I don't see many posters talk about watching games in person. More during baseball season.
