Christ, I haven't even heard this guy's name in probably 10 years, but how many Roger Fenners can there be in Eastern Connecticut? (where we were both originally from). In any case, my sister's an EMT supervisor and her crew transported him last night.. she's going to try to find out for sure if it's him.. if so, damn.. what a mind-fuck.

1. That would be strange. It is horrible what happened to her, and I feel for her
children. However, I'm very annoyed that one person was allowed to subvert the comments enough that I left the article pissed off about them, more than about the person that committed the murder.

2. Ahh..yeah.. I think I know which post you're talking about..
unfortuantely, that particular area of Connecticut isn't very progresive, nor educated (all the good ones usually get the hell out of there pretty quick)

3. Wow.
There are some scary comments on that story, blaming the victim for not having a gun to fight the attacker off.

Here's hoping it's not your old roomie.

4. Creepy....
I know how freaky it feels to find out something like that.

I'm pretty sure a former roommate of mine (or her boyfriend) got away with murdering her husband. We were roommates in college, and I knew her then boyfriend/future hubby. Very nice guy. She had an on again/off again affair going on with another guy, and years later, I found out that her husband was murdered, and she then rather quickly married the long-time boyfriend, collecting a nice insurance policy.

She was they type who could lie to your face and even if you knew the facts and KNEW she was lying, she was SO convincing it was scary.... very cold hearted. I could totally imagine her doing it or setting it up.

5. Egads!
That is freaky. Poor woman and those poor kids left motherless. ugh.

Would the age they gave on him be the same as your ex-roomate. If so, then I would guess it is the same guy. Was he a whacko when you lived with him?

6. Yeah..as I recall, the age would be about right..
I wouldn't go so far as to say he was a psycho when I lived with him.. but he did have a pretty bad temper.. but damn, nothing to suggest THIS level of violence.

7. Yikes! How horrible.
I have a former classmate and friend that I see every time I watch a certain movie I have on video. I taped it off TV and there, in one of those !!!OMIGODBREAKINGNEWSSEGMENTS!!!, is my friend being hauled away for a double murder. He confessed to the crime and was, obviously convicted, but I still have trouble believing that the nice guy I knew all those years ago is a killer.

8. I used to work with a woman who dated a man who turned out
to be a bank robber! He was known as the Tree House Bandit, because he lived in an elaborate treehouse he had built. When this woman found out, she freaked.

10. Used to hang out with a guy...
that ended up killing 5 people at a New Year's Eve party. Pretty crazy to be sitting around with a hangover and watching CNN on New Year's Day when they mentioned his name. About 5 minutes later the phone started ringing off the hook and everyone had the same question, "Did you hear about Robbie?"

Hate to say it but when anyone asked if I was shocked the response was no. The dude was always a bit off. The reason he killed all the people at the party was because 2 guys were arguing over whether the army was better than the Marines and he got tired of listening to them so he shot them. Then he shot 3 other people that were asleep so he wouldn't have any witnesses. He's serving 5 consecutive life sentences now.

11. I worked side-by-side with a serial killer
I worked at a fruit cannery in Oregon during college. Turns out that a guy that was my work partner for a few weeks was the prime suspect in some notorious murders in the mid-80s (the time I was working with him). One day he didn't show for work, and the news broke that he had killed himself just before the police were going to question him. Pretty freaky. And he was, of course, kind of a quiet loner.
