1. I thought it was really quite good.

To each his own I guess. I think I enjoyed it more than I did Apocalypto, which I saw the night before.

7. I didn't like Apocalypto either
I found it boring. And I don't care for gore much, and it was a little much for me. But then again, I knew that when I went it, that it was gory.

I did think it was shot beautifully though.

2. Except for the casting of his family...
It was a good script and Matt Damon rocked it.

The son was too puny and annoying and Angelina Jolie was too "hot" for Matt Damon.

I think I heard they rewrote the ending a good half dozen times so that's why the ending blew chunks.

4. But the ending is the most important part of the movie!
my contention is if the ending blew chunks, the movie blew chunks!

5. That would be a subjective view of cinema.
I was on the edge of my seat for about 1 hour and 45 minutes of it, even if some of the skull and bones stuff was overstated.

11. lala_rawraw hit it spot on. It didn't need silly explosions, it had a story line.
You followed how Damon got involved in the beginnings of the CIA, his professional life and the choices he made and how the effected his life later on, his personal life and family and how choices he made and mistakes he made cost me in this area, as well.

While I like James Bond films, they are all in fun. In reality though, spy work is more like Valerie Plame and fronting false companies to gather information, not hanging off the sides of buildings with cool gadgets and large explosions.

12. I Also Think lala Knows A Good Spy Story Since She's Written
about some real life spy stories and all, and she is great!

10. It was a very well made film that explored the beginning of the CIA.
It never intended on being a James Bond movie. It was a drama and an intriguing film.

16. Ummm...Worst of the year?

It's two weeks into January, so I feel safe in saying it's both the best *and* worst "of the year."

18. You're right. 2006
I saw it Christmas Eve (early in the day). It was ok. Best/worst of the year? I don't know, I don't see movies at theaters very much, usually wait for DVD rental.

It was way too long, made my butt hurt. End of critique.

24. I personally enjoyed it
though it did drag a bit. I think the editing could have been better.
The son was annoying as hell though...And when he's young, he looks creepy...I liked the ending. The construction of the CIA reminded me of the construction of the death star at the end of Star Wars: Episode III.

I enjoy Bourne and other spy movies, but for some reason Bond movies just don't cut it for me anymore. The new one was decent though.
