Women over 40...
In case you missed it on 60 minutes. This is for all girls around 40.
AND for guys who are scared of girls over 40!!!!. This was written by Andy Rooney from CBS 60 Minutes.

Andy Rooney says:
As I grow in age, I value women who are over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why........

A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night to
ask,"What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think.
If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do. And, it's usually something more interesting.

Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you
at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if
you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get away with it.

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what
it's like to be unappreciated.

Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to
a woman over 40.

Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than
her younger counterpart.

Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if
you are a jerk or if you are acting like one! You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately,
it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed hot woman of
40+, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year-old waitress.

Ladies, I apologize.

For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk
for free". Here's an update for you: Nowadays 80% of women are against
marriage, why?

Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire Pig, just to
get a little sausage.

PEACE!

Ghost

11. It's interesting that the original link goes back to Ben Franklin.
You can see very good quotes that are actually modern that are attributed to a Founding Father in order to give them added weight and authority. I had thought that maybe it was something that was just on 60 Minutes which I had missed.

If she's over 40, you can stop referring to her as a "girl".

Edited to redact snark about Rooney since it's been "Snoped".

12. You girls are so sensitive.

(Just kidding. I am a 40-year-old woman who also can't stand the "girls" reference.)

13. what are the correct ages for the labels of girls, ladies, and women.
Me and a few guys, boys, and men (straight males in our early 30's) had this debate the other week. I refer to myself as a "guy" but I have often said that we were having a boy's (or guy's) night out bowling. It is never "just the men" that sounds like a label on a sauna at a country club or golf locker room. How should I refer to females between 25 and 33?

14. Women.
A female ceases to be a "girl" once she becomes an adult, at age 18. (learned that from the Dean of Women Students in college)

15. I treat all people with respect but I tend to be casual to put people at ease
that and I'm just a laid back guy.

17. Me too...
It's just that there really isn't a respectful counterpart for "guys", even casually. "Girls' night out" is OK, but "Where are you girls going tonight" doesn't work as well in these modern times.

16. There is no equivelent to "guys" for women
There's only "girls" or "women".

As many women are offended at being called "girl" just like any AA man would be offended at being called "boy" (and for the same reasons), the polite thing to do is to refer to women as women and girls (under 16) as girls. Women in the 16 - 21 year old range could be referred to as young women if you feel the need.

18. There is an equivalent - gals. Unfortunately, I hate the word gals.
It sounds even more condescending than girls.

19. How about going Broadway. If they're "guys" we're "dolls"
or maybe molls, as if we're all gangster arm candy. When I opened this thread I saw the reference to "girls" and figured that by response 5 someone would take issue with the language. Turns out it was response 6. :D

Gals bothers me less than girls because no one called me a gal when I was ten. "Gal" is dated -- no one uses it much these days.
