for folks with more than one cat
Does your cat collection include a litter box cop? One of our cats seems to follow every other cat on every trip to the litter box, and I know he devils the bejeebers out of one in particular. Daddy the Litter Cop tries to keep Richard out of the box if he catches him before he gets in there, and keeps him from coming out if Daddy gets there late.

Any ideas on how to stop this behavior?

2. maybe get more than one
litter box. my mom has two cats, one is very territorial, so she has three boxes! the little one is somewhat neurotic and will only pee in one and poop in the other, so in essence he has two boxes all to himself.

It's a good suggestion. Maybe we need ten litter boxes. oy....

5. Three cats, four boxes...
Mine are fairly territorial and must have their individual 'space' or they are apt to create new places to do their thing. I have found that keeping lots of litter in the boxes helps them to adjust (they yend to bury stuf really deeply (thank the gods, because they really stink sometimes!). My oldest, DC, tends to follow the youngest, Pooky, to the box sometimes and tries to intimidate him while he is in there. Pooky responds by marking two of the four boxes (pees in one, and poops in another. DC usually leaves the room, eyes watering and gagging. I love cat diplomacy!

the kittens have their own BIG plastig tub.(sorry, litter boxes are ridiculous). luckily no real signs of nueroticism yet, even though the old one still growls.

7. i have two cats
the kitten uses the (one) box. she is inside only, for now at least, as she needs to be spayed VERY soon! my older cat is an inside/outside cat and never does her business inside. so no problemo!
