Damn, it's actually snowing here in central NC...
:yoiks: It was 75 degrees this past weekend and 65 as recently as Tuesday. It's 30 degrees here now and we have almost an inch of snow on the ground. Because the powers that be didn't decide to salt the roads (they usually salt when there's a threat of one little flake), some areas are really dangerous. The road I live on and the surrounding side roads are very slippery, and the main road I take to work is not a whole lot better. It's supposed to turn to rain and/or freezing rain by midday, but since when are weather forecasters correct????

I made it into work safely, but we'll see how things progress during the day. I hope everyone else is faring well!

3. Isn't that a sign of the apocolypse?
Being from North Dakota and now in Wisconsin, it is always a little humorous to see southerners try and drive on snow.

10. Yeah, snow in this area = apocalypse..
... I can drive on snow just fine---I learned how many years ago. But there are too many idiots in this area that have no idea, and they were the ones causing all the accidents this morning (and there were many). It's raining a little now, but the snow is still here on the ground and on everything else, and it's supposed to turn to freezing rain by late afternoon. I think I may let my staff go early today (and I might even duck out early too). :)

5. Hopefully it won't keep going too much
That might make the ride home a pain. It took me an hour to get home last night with only a little bit of drizzle. And it was only 18 miles at that. :hi:

12. Yeah, that definitely sucks.
If I can pull it off, I'm gonna let the staff AND me go home early. :) It's supposed to refreeze. :scared:

maybe you'll get out early if it starts freezing rain(ing)

15. Oh, and why is it that when there is even a threat of snow...
...that everyone has to pile into the grocery store to buy bread, milk, and enough supplies for two weeks???? Around here, it's never more than a day or so before people can get around....Guess they're all survivalists at heart... :P

It's like a pack of wild dogs that runs crazy through the store, leaving destruction and empty shelves in its wake....:P

18. Winter passed us by
though everyone was freaked out yesterday, running on the supermarkets and hardware stores. Big story on the evening news. Nothing happened, 'cept some winter up in the mountains.

I still had to go to work today. :P
