My car's cd player suddenly died. Stick a CD in and the console
indicates that a CD's in it, but it won't play, won't skip, won't do anything.

Anything I can try before going to a car stereo place to get it fixed?

2. do you have a cleaning disk?
could just be dust buildup on the lens. a cleaning disk will cost about $5 at any CD or computer store.
