My douche (no bag attached) story:
Long story short, I was spending the night with my friends Sitska and Engbert in Delden, The Netherlands.

After I had arrived and put my bag in the guest room we settled down in the living room.
Sitska: "Would you like to freshen up after your journey? Would you like a douche?"
Then she frowned and looked perplexed.
"No, NO! My English is SO bad! (It really isn't) A SHOWER! Would you like a shower?"
We had a good laugh.
Douche is French for 'shower' which is what the Dutch call it too.
But Sitska also knows what it means in America.
