The Balkanization of DU really sucks in my view--not being able to stand even -hearing- the views of those who disagree with you seems like such a fundamentally conservative trait. Denying them the ability to even respond to issues you bring up--I don't know how to describe that.

I know this issue has been talked to death so I won't bother getting into it again but in the end, it really is a solution in search of a problem..

But once they are pwn3d and start bulling and teasing based on things like grammar and spelling they will never reply to a post of mine again. And also people who say stuff like "your the lowest form of human scum on earth" really don't offer anything to the topic at hand and will also never reply to a post of mine again.

I'm not taking this shit from anyone. High school was a long time ago for me but apparently some post are mentally still there.

i like to cut up and carry on but, really i think i am pretty harmless. if i have offended someone it surely was not my intention but, if they feel the need to block me. well, so be it.

I know that if everyone could see who I block (i haven't blocked anyone) it might make it harder for me or said someone to do so.

My comment was in jest, and I probably should have used the sarcasm thingy. I'm not crazy about the whole thing. But I've read some of the posts of members who have been cyberstalked, so I can see where the block function is useful for them. However, public lists are very intrusive! I dunno, I'm just trying to wrap my brain around the whole thing. I can't believe there are DU'ers going out there and trolling whole groups within DU and blocking them. My philosophy is live and let live. I live my life, you live yours! Unless it's totally degrading or predatory against a person who is incapable of making a decision (such as minors, and I realize with teens this is a gray area), or animals, I'm fine. Otherwise, I will fight for your rights, if they're not equal to everyone else's. I'll respect you, as long as you respect me.

And that's because I found out they are running sock puppets here and on a couple of other sites.

And only two other people on ignore - just cause they p*** me off. The other person I had on ignore got a granite pizza, and if he was still posting he'd be blocked.

I've never blocked or put anyone on ignore.

I just ignore them.

If there's a freeper lurking I hit the alert button but if somebody disagrees with me I'm not going to be a baby and block them so that only people that do agree with me can reply.

Maybe they should have an age requirement. We are all adults here....right?
