Is bmi a big crock?

It seems like it must be a pretty poor measurement tool for assessing your overall body composition, as it doesn't take into account frame size, amount of muscle mass, etc.

Usually if you're unhealthy with regard to body weight, BMI is just reinforcement of that knowledge. Taken in isolation, the same number could mean a number (:P) of things.

2. That's what I thought.

Based on my bmi, I *should* be scrawny, but I'm not, really; I've got a small body frame for a tall person. I see so many references to bmi on fitness sites, I just think it's a tool of relatively limited relevance/use to alot of people.
