111. Old joke most Wisconsinites know...
Two guys from South of the Border (i.e., Illinois) are traveling through Wisconsin when they come across the exit sign for Oconomowoc. They start trying to figure out how its pronounced, but at the same time it's near noon so they decide to take the exit to a nearby restaurant.

"Can I take your order?" the girl behind the counter says.

"Sure," says the one guy, "but help us out with something. Can you tell me where we are, and say it really slow so we can understand it."

"Buurrr-Gerrr Kiinng," the girl responds.

In the rain shadow of the Olympic Peninsula, which makes it a very hospitable community, especially for seniors -- more sun and less rain.

Let's see what they're doing tonight: Oh, it's clear, all right. Hasn't rained today. http://www.visitsun.com/weather.html

Pronounced SKWIM... More information at: http://www.visitsun.com/

Last time we checked, they were maintaining a palm tree right next to their City Hall.

101. Sorry. I needed an N.O. avatar that didn't represent crushing failure.
(or at least won't for a few more weeks :P )

I had thought that, unlike most of these situations, Charlotte fans drove the team (specifically, its boorish owners) out of town, rather than them just bailing in search of a better deal, as the remaining one (Shinn) is hoping to do in Okla. City; you may yet get your moment of schadenfreude...

No idea about Hugo. Even if I lived there, I would hardly know, as they are playing all but six home games up in the Big...um, er... in OKC. :P

84. Nuh-uh
Los Baños (pronounced "BAHN-yos") means "the baths," not "the bathrooms." There are natural springs nearby.

Supposedly, the dudes who built the California missions dipped in 'em.

Me, I get a kick out of saying "Frezzz-no." :7

:-)

You're going across North Dakota on I-90, and you start seeing signs that say "Beach 25 miles." And you look around, and--you're in North Dakota, 1500 miles in either direction from an ocean. Then the sign says "Beach 15 miles" and "Beach 5 miles." Pretty soon, you arrive at Beach, and it's just another half-dead North Dakota town on a barren landscape.

Also Nemo, South Dakota (Finding Nemo, anybody?). One of their residents died in Iraq. PFC Michael R Deuel, d. June 18, 2003, age 21.

Huron, SD. Often pronounced almost like "urine" by locals. Also lost a resident in Irag. Spc. Daniel D. Bartels, d. October 19, 2005, age 22.

Woonsocket, SD. I always thought that name was kinda funny.

Blue Earth, MN. I don't know where that came from...
