Remember that annoying ad for the documentary "Jesus Camp" that was on DU all the time....

It got nominated for an Oscar for best documentary.

The whole movie is posted in its entirety on YouTube if you want to watch it (or was, I don't know how legit the posting was). It's actually a very well written and well produced look into the lives of these people. It doesn't take a position for or against what they are doing, and instead just lays it all out there in their own words. That's probably the best part of it. Fundies like it because it shows them "the faithful" living the life of God. Non-fundies can watch it as a wake up call as to what these nutjobs are doing. Since it doesn't argue either position, it presents its topic in a way that doesn't really offend.

I doubt that it will win, especially NOT since it's running against Inconvenient Truth, but it deserved a nomination. It was a well produced look at some very uncomfortable subject matter.

I'm assuming that the Youtube version was a pirate, since it's no longer up there. It wasn't a camjob though, so I don't know where it came from.

When it does come out on video, I recommend picking it up. It WILL freak you out, but it's good to know what we're up against.
