Online College Courses
I am trying to find a three credit upper level political science course I can take online. Does anyone have any good experiences with online college programs? I'm looking for something I can start as soon as possible. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

3. I've taken online college classes.
The worst thing about it -- and this may just be the people who were teaching the classes -- was that they seemed to have a much larger workload than regular classes. I mean, DAMN!

That being said, overall, I liked it because I could do the assignments whenever I wanted, as long as I got them done on time. The classes had a chat room, so the students could talk with each other about assignments, do group projects together, etc., and the women teaching the class were very good at staying in touch with us.

It took a little getting used to for me, but once I did, I liked it.

4. I did my entire teacher prep online
the education courses, that is -- except for observations and student teaching. I loved it. No parking problems, work in jammies, drink an adult beverage while working if I wanted to, listen to music while working, read when I needed to and where I wanted to, and basically, not have to deal with getting my butt in a chair at a certain time. What I missed was comradarie and the exchange of ideas and experiences with other people. It's a trade off.

I was working full time so being able to save time in travel was really important.

As far as the instruction, well, most of it was in the reading. Most of the time, we wrote responses, essays, lesson plans, etc. The feedback was helpful most of the time. There were one or two instructors who sucked, but most were pretty good. I was pleased with the program and was finished with it and teaching with a full time contract as a fully certified teacher in less than two years (it was a post-bac program).

It worked for me!
