I noticed a couple pictures had lambda Chi Alpha stuff, so I checked the website of the chapter at Tarelton, and came up with this:

I'm very, very disappointed - Lambda Chi Alpha was one of the first integrated fraternities, and has been one of the most progressive in dealing with hazing (abolished in the 50s), alcohol abuse and liability (big push early 80s), date rape and respect for women (also the 80s), academic excellence (ages ago), and many other things.

This is totally unacceptable.

I think I'm gonna send this to national and suggest they investigate and either remove their charter, or put them on probation. I'm really angry.

university. They had a "malt and 'melon" party last year on MLK day. At least their charter was revoked. I don't remember which frat it was offhand.

You can have a frat chapter full of dicks at one school, and one with nice guys at another. Unless the chapter does something stupid, they are autonomous (although dealing with Inter-Fraternity Councils and Pan-Hellenic groups are an exception.)

The G.I.Q.s of malt liquor in brown bags really frosted the racist cake for me.

They need to hear from their brothers about this.

I was a Phi Sigma Kappa myself...we had Lambda Chi's at Oregon State, but they were pretty cool.

Of course, he's African-American.... I have to disagree with the hazing policy. The hazing was pretty mild, but I do recall a week of no showers and rumors of "Magic Carpet Ride" candle rituals.

Every chapter is different, but I can understand that you wouldn't want to see your letters on a group of idiots. Sending the links to National is perfectly reasonable.
