1. For F-1
that is ONE ugly sucker.

There must be some advantages to it in wind tunnel tests or else they wouldn't have configured it that way.

What do you think?

3. Aerodynamically ignorant
I haven't the foggiest idea. If someone told me 15 years ago the currently standard "high nose" is aerodynamically efficient, I'd say "are you out of your mind?"

4. form follows function follows rules
They wouldn't do it if there wasn't an advantage.

It's fugly for damn sure, it had better win races or it'll face years of ridicule.

I mean what's worse, the people who designed the Element or the people who actually buy it?

8. ok, this will sound weird,
but I kinda like it...

the funky shapes _and_ the paint job. I mean most racing adver-cars are hideous, but at least this one is creative with the coloring and shapes.

10. There is a welcome breath of sobriety in Williams' paintjob
ALL sponsor logos follow the team's color scheme, no matter what are the company's original colors. Petrobras for instance is green and yellow. Budweiser is red and white.

Only exception: in deference to Brazilian gas, the pitcrew member who pumps the fuel wears all yellow.

12. What can I compare that automobile to? (and what's up with the logos?!)
I know! The last time I threw up, the lumps in my vomit were more appealing to look at than that car!

And, somehow, one has to wonder why it and those who posed with it weren't peddling Viagra... :eyes:

It's a mobile advertisement for a bunch of companies, half of which we don't know anything about yet we're expected to buy their products. :eyes: Advertising is utterly stupid.

I mean, "Castrol". Is that a replacement for Castor oil to induce vomiting with?

Allianz? What the heck do they do, sell pot on the black market? Condoms? Whassup?!

Michelin I know, they sell tires. For once we have an APPROPRIATE advert.

BR on that back tailfin that makes no sense. The fin or the "BR", neither makes sense. What is BR anyway? Burger Roast?

And, most amusingly, Budweiser (the beer peddlers) have their monkier closest to the driver's mouth. Great job Bud, you'll turn us all into walking DWI cases and drunk drivers yet! :eyes:

14. Serious? You don't know "Castrol"?
And you claim to know racing?
Shit, Castrol's been keeping the insides of racing engines from welding into a solid lump as long as I can remember....
Used to run 20W50 in my HOnda and BMW.

15. Well, I know Michelin tires... the only thing I know abourt racing is...
they go arond in circles 500 times, speed, never ask for directions, waste a ton of gas and oil... and to do what? Watch people kill each other in car crashes when not parading a bunch of brand names we could care less about?

I was being sarcastic on "Castrol". It was too good to pass up!

17. They don't burn Gasoline.
Alcohol. there's a "Gas" class in drag racing, but the indy cars burn alky.

You might be right on the origin of the Castrol name. In WWI, aircraft engines were lubed with castor oil. since the engines ran it through once then over the side, being a WWI fighter ace was "The Shitz" in more ways than one...

It's only co-incidental that I'll buy something you see painted on the side of a car. don't smoke, don't drink, so there's a lot of waste money...:7

NASCAR have to use 107 to get anywhere near the same amount of power.

is the FUGLYMOBILE. Saw a few of 'em in Tucson, and figured this is what people out there drive instead of those godawful aztec or element things.

Front wing has to be at least X centimeters off the ground. I don't remember the value of X right now.

23. And come to think of it...
aerodynamically, once they get up to speed, the car gets sucked closer to the ground.
The pictures just made it look a little high from the ground.

25. There's been plenty of creative rule bypassing in F1
By getting car parts wider, higher, lower, narrower, lighter, hotter, sexier... as a consequence of movement. Getting closer to the ground by downforce, however, is acceptable.
