Anybody have a link to a free reverse phone directory?
I got this strange (BOGUS???) 1099 in the mail. It seems to be from the State "Division of Finance" (WTF?) and when I tried to go to the listed website I got a warning from my computer that it might be dangerous (!)and now I'm affraid to call the number from my phone.

I have no idea what this is but it has my rather unusual real name spelled right and my SS number correct except for one digit. I don't know of any income this would be coming from either - I wish! It is for better than 6K.

7. ok moving it to the lounge just freaked me out too!
tried to reply and it was locked! :scared:

Anyway it came back unlisted - Strange, they paid first class postage too, but on a meter. I wonder if I should report this to the post office or the IRS or????

8. It sounds like a phishing scam
State dividion of finance, really. How they try to steal your money. Call the IRS.

Will be reporting in the morning. Scary thing is they got my Soc number pretty dang close. Yikes.

10. Update
It is apparently a real department in the state government. I can tell by the runaround I have been getting trying to find out why the hell they sent a 1099 to me. :eyes:
