Is it going downhill? Is it turning into a tourist trap? Do they still have the sunset celebtration with the guy and the cats that jump through fire?

I havnt been there in years.

13. He starves them, and then makes them do the tricks to eat
The only reason they listen to him is because they're so hungry they'll do anything for some food.

4. One of my favorite vacations!
Went there during a caribbean street celebration. Ate lots of good food, met some nice people, and got to laugh my ass off when my wife screamed when a rooster walked over her feet at an outdoor restaurant.

6. While it is a "bit" of a tourist trap
the bed and breakfast my wife and I stayed at was very low key and a great place to stay. the guy who worked there, Koko, was fantastic in giving us ideas on good places to eat and where to go.

7. I'm glad you had a nice experience.
There was a horrible letter to the editor the other day from a couple who had just had an awful time. I always hate that. There are some wonderful guest houses and bed/breakfast places.

LOL, should have known by your screen name that you would love KW!

10. The letters to the editor crack me up.
Generally I find them to be from folks who should have vacationed in the Poconoes.

9. My son was in the cat show last week.
We go to Key West every January. It hasn't changed in 10 years as far as I can tell. Names on some of the shops and restaurants change, but that's about it. Actually, I take that back. They have an excellent new Eco museum over near Ft. Zachary Taylor that just opened. The kids and the adults loved it.

From our balcony we watch the sunset celebration and on Saturday evenings are usually treated to a couple of weddings and wedding receptions too.

We leave Key West gastronomically exhausted. Found a tapas place that was just out of this world. Santiago's Bodega.

15. Touristy but still fun
I was there not too long ago and while it has gotten more touristy over the years, it still beats being the pants off of being in the office ;)

16. I just was amazed about how many visitors had never seen the
sun set over water before. :wow:

And it needs a swimming beach on the west side of the island!
