Post Your Favorite 80s Metal & Hard Rock Videos Here!
Okay, okay, could be late 70s to mid-80s...or maybe even late 80s...Okay, early 70s, too. Whenever. Preferably old school.

And it doesn't have to be a "music video." If you can find a good live performance, that's even better.

Please provide the YouTube linky thing.

And rock on, dudes and dudettes!

I'll kick it off with The Scorps, doing "Lovedrive" from 1979!

Some outdoor benefit concert for a girl with Leukemia at a community college, moshing in a mud pit. Good times.

28. OMFG NITRO!
Michael Angelo--the shreddin'est guitarist of all time! He somehow manages to not be very entertaining though, but how much aqua net do you think that band had to have on their tour bus?

Nice call on the Maiden tune, by the way.

32. and who could forget Jim Gilette's 2:00 minute vocal note
on Machine Gun Eddie.

Yeah, despite all of their techinical ability, they were not good. More of an unintentional parody of the genre.

34. Yup.
WHen it comes to any genre somebody is gonna be the "unintentional parody" and NITRO was it. I think it has to do with being so dmaned earnest while at the same time being over-the-top. You know, look like any other hair band--just more so.

I used to cringe when watching those Judas Priest videos, but with the advent of maturity I can tell they're not being serious, it's more akin to goofing off. Also other than one short ill-advised period Priest knew to stay away from the hairspray. Having said that, I still dig the hell out of Turbo, I love the rhythym guitar tones, and Hot for Love may be Judas Priest's most overlooked guitar highlight. :headbang:

So who wins the ugliest 80s metal icon? Udo Dirkschneider or Ronnie James Dio?

A couple of hideous trolls, both of them.

26. Iron Maiden Stranger in a Strange Land
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7EtiD8emXA

This is possibly the greatest maiden tune of all time, and is a strong contender for best metal guitar solo--not for its display of amzaing chops, but rather just how damn dramatic it is, and how utterly perfect it is in the context of this song.
