Baby Jesus Statue Seen Crying In Texas Church
It is because of my pit bull thread i'll bet :D

<snip>

A statue of the baby Jesus in Sabinal is crying tears, say believers at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. They believe it is a miracle.

Last Sunday was going to be ordinary one at the parish until Maria Alaniz, who leads the choir, decided to add something to the morning Mass. So, she pulled out the church's statue of the baby Jesus, which had been stored away long ago.

"And I dressed him and I put him in the back," Alaniz said.

She placed the statue on table in the back of the church until the morning Rosary was finished.

"I ran back because we were going to start to sing. So, I went back and I was going to pick up the baby. That's when I saw the tears," Alaniz said.

For the next 30 minutes, the statute shed glycerin-like tears from both eyes, said Father Pedro Molina.

"His tears just kept rolling and rolling and rolling," Alaniz said.

The 40 parishioners gathered and stood in awe, Molina said.

"All the congregation, we were crying," Molina said. "Everybody took out their cell phones, some of them have cameras. For me, it was a very special day. I feel like God is telling us he is alive.

6. I won't mock what sounds like sincere belief, but it's interesting to me
that I would seen the same thing and wondered what natural phenomenum was causing the stutue to expel liquid.

Given the frequency of statues crying--not just Christian or even religious statues--I'd say there is something physical involving the material absorbing liquid then expelling it, depending on the humidity and barometer pressure at the time.

Then again, a believer might say "That's just the way God chose to make the miracle happen, not proof it wasn't a miracle." It's all about faith. I have faith that there's a natural explanation, others have faith that the explanation is divine. No way to prove either way, really.

Yeah, I'm in a state-the-obvious mood. Try to stop me. Go ahead. It's cold outside. Cold makes me wear coats. See, you can't stop me! I'm posting on DU now. Hahaha. I'm on a roll. Or role? Hmmm.

Okay, I'll stop.
