Boy Doused Himself In Deodorant - Set Himself On Fire (Jackass Stunt)
<snip>

A FATHER has described the horror of seeing his son turn into a human fireball after copying a stunt from a film.

Stuart Harrison, 11, was rushed to hospital with severe burns following an incident on Sunday afternoon at his home in Greenock, Inverclyde.

It is understood he was engulfed by flames after copying scenes from Jackass: The Movie by spraying himself with deodorant and setting himself alight.

Stuart was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital in Greenock at around 1.30pm but then transferred to Glasgow's Sick Children's Hospital, where he is still being treated.

His father, Francis, 46, said: "He was a ball of flames. He was screaming and bawling and ran into the living room.

"I pulled him on to the floor and pulled his clothes off and put a damp towel around him. If I hadn't been there, he would have been roasted alive."

Stuart's father and his mother, Pearl, want the Jackass TV series and the 18-rated films banned following the incident. The film, which stars Johnny Knoxville, originated from the MTV series Jackass. It has the tagline "Do not attempt this at home" and contains a number of pranks and stunts that did not get past the television censor.

It was reported the boy watched the film in his bedroom with his twin brother and best friend before acting the scene out.

1. I just hate the knee-jerk reaction that crap like this brings. Ban the movies and the TV shows?
C'mon, is banning a show really going to put common sense into your kids? If your kid doesn't have the common sense to not light themselves on fire, I seriously doubt banning a TV show is going to help change that. If Jackass wasn't around, they would have blamed something else.

7. Kids are highly impressionable.
They should not watch these shows.

2. Why were they letting their 11-year old boys
watching such a show? Both Jackass movies are rated R.

I guess it's easier to blame "hollywood" rather than actually BE a parent.

3. Tragic, of course, but how did he smell afterwards?
It's called Jackass for a reason...

13. When I was a kid I used to think that if I hit my sister
on the head with a frying pan..her head would flatten like a pancake and then pop back to it's normal position.
I was probably 5 and watched alot of Looney Tunes.
Thought you could shoot a duck with a rifle and all it's feathers would fall off..but it would be fine.

Wonder if my parents wanted to ban cartoons?

11. I've seen both Jackass movies, and don't remember any stunts like this
but hey, at least they didn't blame it on Grand Theft Auto
