Not that I don't like dogs - I do.

That peanut butter picture on the bottom reminds me of a Vaseline incident we had when my oldest child was two. **shudder**

4. After having my first dog for 6 weeks, I'm down for kids being easier.

Seriously!

We always have to figure out what to do with the dog, and though he'll improve some as he gets older he'll always be at a certain level.

Although dogs stink up a house more than children do, but maybe not quite as much as a baby stinks up a house.

You'll be cleaning up after your dog until the day it dies.

Your dog will never ask you for a car. However, you may buy one for your vet's kid.

Traveling with kids is easier.

I'm going to give kids the edge on this one.

6. My thinking precisely. When my kids were little we could go

anywhere and do anything. That juast improved as they got older.

Knowing that I have to figure out how to get around NO DOG ALLOWED and pick up poop for the rest of the dog's life feels like a lot more work.

7. They're very similar

Actually, I wrote an essay in college about that - a rather tongue-in-cheek piece comparing the merits of those two "pets". My conclusion is that they're both expensive, messy, loud, demanding and challenging but do offer love, companionship and amusement.

But dogs win because you can pop them in a crate and leave them home alone.
