1. Just to point out, THIS is where the phrase: "That begs the question."
Edited on Fri Feb-02-07 05:11 PM by MJDuncan1982
would be appropriate.

Edited on Fri Feb-02-07 05:19 PM by ikhor
and then it eventually evolved into...."you can't disprove god so he must exist" well thats great because i happen to worship an invisible giant 4 eyed badger that lives in the center of the earth and you can't disprove him so he must exist too! and that begs the question......Can the Flying Spaghetti Monster create a pasta spoon so big that he is unable to serve himself on a plate with it? (well it really doesnt beg the question i'm just retarded)

someone go find me a pack. If you can't find one, then that means that, dammit, they exist.

6. That must mean that if something CAN be proven to exist, it doesn't.

Using the bible as a reference totally makes them lose the argument. Duckie

8. Christians and logic just don't go together. It's part of their theology.
"You can't prove a negative" and "you're using the No True Scotsman fallacy" fall on deaf ears.

9. "An atheist does not know that God exists."
:eyes: The most difficult thing is that this sort of theologian believes that everyone revolves around their religion. As if their religion matters at all to "heathens" and unbelievers.

11. Huh? What in the world?
What kind of circular illogical reasoning is this? How can something that is not proven to exist, exist? If something isn't proven to exist, would that be a question of whether or not it does or doesn't exist. Blue

14. Nothing logically wrong with "X can't be proven, therefore X is true"
In the early 1930's, Kurt Godel correctly made exactly such an argument -- and thus became the most important logician of the twentieth century
