So I was walking to class and a man yelled at me, "You are going to hell!"

.....because I flipped him off at close range while walking to my next class.

What is it with these evangelical preacher guys that love to come to college campuses and stand in a crowded square yelling at people?
This guy was giving out all kinds of reasons why the students were going to hell, with great emphasis on masturbation and homosexuality. These people apparently aren't satisfied with the 50+ christian organizations they have on campus, so they have to make sure they harrass students as they walk to class too.

These folks are so filled with misplaced guilt and shame and all that other yucky emotional stuff that is the only thing they can do to feel better.

I went home and told my husband about it; and he stormed out of the house saying he was going to find the sonofabitch and tell him that Jesus told my husband to punch the bastard in the nose.

I was on my way home from LeftyKid's well baby visit, he was only a few months old then, and I didn't take the guy's Chick tract. He starts screaming about how The Lawd gave me my baby and the Lawd can take him away and pretty much saying that God would kill my kid to punish me for not taking tracts from weirdos in the light rail parking lot.

I would have given the guy a funny walk for the rest of his life.

But then, I'm not exactly a Christian :)

I think most of these people beleive their place in heaven is dependent upon how many converts they get. The Jesus sent forth his disciples to spread the word, and so to be like them they must to, etc.

Fortunatly peope who are selling stuff or trying to evangelize etc. seem to avoid me. Though I can't really explain to you how you can do likewise.
