What's the weather like for you today?
I woke up to -4F/-20C with -21F/-29C wind chill. The news is reporting that all school districts are closed and mentioned several water mains that have broken because of the cold temps. This would be a good day for me to stay home and get caught up on some chores I've been putting off.

6. They didn't cancel school?
I assumed they cancel school so that the kids don't have to wait for the bus in dangerous temps. I'm curious as to why is it delayed and not canceled? Do you know?

16. They almost never cancel school up here. Only in extreme cases.
The extra two hours justs buys some time for the busses to get rolling and heated. The temp is actually way up to -9 right now. Brilliant sun. Back down to -20 tonight.

23. About 100 - 110 degrees... every day.
But it's a dry heat!

For me it's not that bad. I can deal with the heat. I can't deal with the cold and snow and ice.

11. I just went out to get the paper.........
And I smelled.......smog!

The wind is blowing out of the NE........and that means we get our smog blown back over us.....

When there's high pressure over Utah, the winds blow from that direction...

And we suffer in them.......

High temperatures, and an increased risk of fire.........

Since the wind dries out the vegetation.......

However, the smog does make for prettier sunsets, and warmer temps...

14. 64, feels like
64.

High of 67 today in San Antonio. Up to 70 tomorrow!

But I can sympathize, I lived in Alaska for 6 years. I know what -75F wind chill feels like! And I know what it's like to have the WIND CHILL not get above -25F for three weeks!

18. Yeah, I hate coming to work anyway but this morning was especially cruel.
Luckily the Honda started up no problem but the seat cushion felt like a board and it was hard to turn any of the dials.
