Most Annoying Televison Characters

Okay, so they are fictional, but have you ever found certain television characters just plain annoying? I have. Here is my list. Share yours, please and remember we are talking characters not actors here.!

Marcia Brady- Like every snobbish girl I ever met in Catholic grade school. Marcia, Marcia, Marcia, as Jan would say.

Phyllis Lindstrom- Mary Tyler Moore- Couldn't stand her voice and she was always so nasty to Rhoda.

Felix Unger- Odd Couple- Okay I am a self confessed slob, so I felt Oscar's pain when Felix harrassed him about the messes.

Marlena Brady- Days of Our Lives- She always seemed like she was stuck in a fifties time loop to me. Her goshes, and her oh mys, and the way she wipes her tears away with the back of her hands. Too sappy and phony for my taste. I quit liking John when they reunited them, and I loved him with Izzy B, Diana, and Kristen.

Oh, you meant fictional?

The entire cast of TV shows like "The War at Home," "Saved by the Bell," and "Star Trek: Voyager." Not a likable character in the whole bunch.

And the lead character from House... I have never even watched the show because just the previews of this guy drive me insane with annoyance.

He is supposed to be an ass! That is his schtick!!!! He is fantastic!

But of course, you are entitled to your opinion as wrong as it may be!! :P Kidding! :)

why is an arrogant, self-centered egotist so admired? I've had this show recommended to me by several people. And I've tried to watch it. But the main character is just damn irritating. I work with cranky men who think they know everything. Why would I want to go home and watch "House"?

I am not a House fan either. My Mom likes him and I know its his shtick, I just find him a little too good at being obnoxious. ;)

Robert Barone (the older brother) on Everybody Loves Raymond. ELR is my favorite TV comedy of all time. I love it. (So sue me!) But there were times when I just wanted to have a smackdown with the Robert because he was such a baby.

George's interview with the Yankees when he discovers his new religion: "if every instinct I have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right."

Mr. Cushman: Why don't you tell me about some of your previous job experiences?

George: Alrighty. Ah ... my last job was in publishing... I got fired for having sex in my office with the cleaning woman.

Mr. Cushman: Go on.

George: Alright, before that, I was in real estate. I quit, because the boss wouldn't let me use his private bathroom. That was it.

Mr. Cushman: Do you talk to everybody like this?

George: Of course.

Mr. Cushman: My niece told me you were different.

George: I am different, yeah.

Mr. Cushman: I gotta tell you, you are the complete opposite of every applicant we've seen.

( Mr. Cushman gets out of his chair )

Mr. Cushman: Ah, Mr. Steinbrenner, sir. There's someone here I'd like you to meet. This is Mr. Costanza. He's one of the applicants.

Mr. Steinbrenner: Nice to meet you.

George: Well, I wish I could say the same, but I must say, with all due respect, I find it very hard to see the logic behind some of the moves you have made with this fine organization. In the past twenty years you have caused myself, and the city of New York, a good deal of distress, as we have watched you take our beloved Yankees and reduced them to a laughing stock, all for the glorification of your massive ego!

She's the show's fictional version of Nancy Grace and is just as annoying as the real thing. Thank Jebus she hasn't been on in a while!

She gets clubbed with a shovel in "On the Ledge," the episode in which Lincoln Meyer kidnaps Shirley, but she shows up later on on TV with her head wrapped in bandages. I remember saying, out loud, "No, no, NO! Why couldn't they just leave her dead?" She hasn't been on since, which has been a relief.

we do that at my house all the time. I thnk the writers at csi must thing he's a tool based on the lines they give, most of the time his one liners make no sense at all.

...her ditziness and superficiality really got under my skin not unlike a trailer trash, former Playboy model who died from her own stupidity in the last couple of days.

liked nice things but, she had a heart and she was learning and growing. but, to each their own.

She helped run The Brick often times by herself. You think Lucy from "I Love Lucy" could do that? (Lucy, you got some 'splainin' to do!)

In one of the episodes we find out that she was raised without a father and also pretty much had to raise her own mom.

Yeah, she was girly and stuff but her superficiality was only skin deep. And she had a good heart.

Great, great show. I can't believe it isn't be rerun anywhere.

What I didn't like were those stupid storylines (possession, amnesia, etc).

I'm trying to think of some characters that really annoy me - I'll get back to you on that.

I don't watch it anymore and the possession story line was over 10 years ago, but that pretty much turned me off!

is gone now. They got a new headwriter last fall, and the stories have been great.

There's a lot I miss about Days, but I can't go back. It's just John was my favorite character, and when they put him back with Doc, it kind of wrecked it all for me. I liked them together originally but then I thought he ended up being so much better with Isabella, Diana, and Kristen, that I just couldn't go back to seeing them as a couple. Plus Marlena just grades like nails on a black board to me now.

Which just got cancelled.

so now NBC is just done to one soap. It is kind of sad in a way. I used to love Santa Barbara.

The new headwriter at Days has done a lot so far to fix the screw-ups of his predecessor.

I liked Another World. I was pissed they cancelled it to make room for Passions, which I never liked.

I think that may have turned a lot of long time fans away. I know it did me.

I liked Marlena at first, until Deidre left and then came back from Our House, then Marlena just got on my nerves after.

Counselor Troi, why don't you try and tell us what the cold, emotionless space monster that is about to devour us all is feeling?
Even Wesley Crusher was more useful than she was, and he was a complete dufus.
Those characters are from Star Trek: TNG, for those of you who might be wondering.

I also hate George Costanza from Seinfeld. Someone as disgustingly unlikeable as him would not exist in real life. At least, not for long. He would be in a shallow grave somewhere in New Jersey.

She was hot though.

As for Costanza, I dunno... Larry David (on whom the character is largely based) is doing pretty good for himself Pretty, pretty, pretty... pretty good!

Yeah, Troi was nice to look at, but everytime she opened her mouth...ugh. I still think TNG was the best Star Trek series, though.

My husband told me she used to be a porn star.

I hate calling anyone talentless or hurling insults, but the actor was horrible in that role. Every line was delivered awkwardly, as though it were being read out of context of the rest of the script, and with a bad attempt at an accent. The accent might have been real, but it still sounded fake.

I told my bf at the time if she says what she FEELS one more time I will surely barf - doesn't she KNOW anything?

but her observations were so painfully obvious that anyone could have come up with them. Agreed, she was useless.

When he kissed Samantha it was not genuine. When he was annoyed it never reached Dick Yorkian levels.

Georgeanne character from "MTM Show". I always hated that little breathless voice of hers. She was also on "Coach".

Megan Mullaly (talked like she inhaled helium) on "Will and Grace"
Suzanne Sommers as Cookie on "Three's Company". I hated that show, especially her dumb blonde character.
JJ on "Good Times" (Dyno-mite!) Not funny and not cute.

He played that really boring geography teacher who showed the gawd-awful flickering black-and-white "educational" films.

That character would crack me up - in his bland monotone "A teeming mass of death and destruction"

...and used for phaser calibration practice. The 23rd Century must really be enlightened because, if Wesley were around today, he'd have the crap beaten out of him four times daily.

I'm truly sick of the Grey's Anatomy folk - I tried watching it and it was crap - and the acting friggin' terrible

but I find the amount of publicity they all get completely irritating. I cancelled TV Guide because mostly all they ever had were articles on the Grey's cast or Lost. Now Josh Holloway is sexy and I am a fan but even he shouldn't be on the cover every other week either.

IMHO, I just don't get the McDreamy and McSteamy titles. I personally just don't find either Patrick Dempsey or Eric Dane good looking. I have taken to calling them McDorky and McSkanky. Just because I think the whole Mcphenomena is overdone. No offense to those who are fans of theirs. Its simply that their not my personal cup of sexy.

I've never seen a cast of characters who want to fuck each other more since Sex & The City.

Although "Sex and the City" had competent writing and acting, a couple of things that are conspicuously absent from "Grey's Anatomy."

They ought to re-name the series "Young Doctors In Rut." Keeping in mind that 95% of real doctors look and act pretty much like what they once were: the kids in your high school who scored highest in their chemistry classes.....

The appeal of that Grey's Anatomy (and it's characters) is lost on me. The show seems to tell it's story, to the extent it that has a story, mostly through carefully placed songs. :boring:

There will be a rerun of this show somewhere, and I'll try to watch it, but the characters all seemed shallow, superficial, and throughly unlikable.

All were just too cute and perfect beyond words, IMNO.

I stopped watching Cheers when Kristie Alley's character came on because I found her so obnoxious.

I'm unconvinced that Megan Mullally isn't a character in her own right who is playing a character. The thespian equivalent of nails on a blackboard.

I was quite young when "Family Ties" ended and I only remembered Jennifer as being a teenager/early adult in the show and I quoite liked her. In fact I still do like the teenaged/early adult Jennifer. But I saw some reruns recently of the very early episodes of Family Ties, when she was very young and she was just an ANNOYING PRECOCIOUS BRAT. I'm sure the scriptwriters intended her to be cute or whatever but she was just annoying as anything. Thankfully she got better as she aged on the show and got better storylines.

There was an equally annoying precocious little brat on this Australian TV show I used to watch called "E Street". It was a shame because her mother was my favorite character on that show but the daughter was just the most whiny, annoying, irritating character imaginable

I'm going to get flamed for this one -I always found Winnie Cooper on the "Wonder Years" slightly annoying. Another one I will get flamed on -I found the secretary on "Moonlighting" annoying as well but then again I think she was meant to be and I still loved the show

Actually everyone on that show was kind of annoying, except for Jefferson D'Arcy.
