I'm having a rather lousy day.
I'm tired, I have a shit ton of homework to do and all no motivation. I really want to chill with some sugary food and watch something trashy, but my DLs of Rome episodes 3 and 4 are stalled within moments of being done.

I was finally feeling really good about school yesterday and today I'm burnt out again.

I spent half my paycheck on medicine for my cat. She still hates me.

That's it.

2. Oh sweety!
I'm sending you the  your cat can't give you. They're just not wired that way! As far as school goes, rest, get your head cleared, and then go at it!

3. I'm sorry. . .
I feel your pain on the lack of motivation. I fight that battle everyday. As for the cat, she doesn't hate you--she tolerates you. :)

5. Yoiks! That's rough, LM.
I've been running low on motivation myself, so I know what you're saying.

6. I'm right there with you. The whole week has sucked.
This entire week has made me so amazingly angry I'm actively trying to unclench my jaw and calm down.
x(

I hope the weekend is good. I hope you get some downtime. And I hope you get through all that homework.

7. Thanks Thom.

I think I'm going to get started on that anthro work. I don't have to do all of it, but it'll be less overwhelming to pick it back up if I make a bit of a dent in it.

8. Is it an Intro to Anthropology class or what?
I took a couple as an undergrad - I wish I'd paid more attention.

13. Yep.
So far it's not too difficult, but I think they're really trying to make it accessible to people who didn't get much science in school.

14. I took it with an old crotchety prof
at Arkansas Tech. Apparently he had, at some point, had an illustrious career as an anthropologist. But, when I had him, the first thing he said was:

"There are too damn many people in here for all of you to be here every day. Attendance is not required. Here are the review and test dates..."

So, I skipped a lot, and scratched my way into a B.

15. Well, we're not graded on attendence at the lecture
Which is a darn good thing, since it's at 8 am. I've only missed it once, but I've rolled in late a few times so far. The lab, we're not really graded on attendance for that either, but the book doesn't explain squat and a lot of it's group work, so you kinda have to go, and anyhow she does pop quizzes for extra credit that do reward showing up.

Both of my instructors are young adjuncts who until recently were doing field work looking sites left by local(ish) native groups.

9. Hope tomorrow's better for you, LeftyMom!
 :hi:

(Also, I can totally sympathize with you on all the anthro work - I have an amount of reading roughly equivalent to the whole blasted Harry Potter series that I have to get done. Really, sometimes it makes me wonder why I thought this major would be a good idea...)

10. I know how you feel, LM.
I'm in the middle of a crap semester (three 15-20 page research papers, amid countless other assignments and exams). It's incredibly overwhelming; plus, I'm in the process of transferring schools because I really can't stand living in this isolated little town anymore.

And I'm a full time student. I can't imagine how you juggle *life* in there. Good luck. It'll all get finished in time. :hi:

11. Well, I organized what I've got and did some of the work
I have 3 1-2 page self-tests and a lab left to do. It'll probably take me an hour or two at most to finish, I'm just too tired to get the last bit done at the moment, my brain doesn't do math so well at the best of times and not at all when I'm fatigued.

Off to go check my organizer and see what else I've got to do. I know I have to write a little self-evaluation for my communications class, I think other than that I just have a ton of reading to do.

17. She's being less of a pill now that she's feeling a bit better.
She's standoffish and jumpy even when she's at her best.

21. That is like my older cat, Maximouse;
It's impossible to please him, except by feeding him regularly and giving him the periodic scratch on the belly. Otherwise I might as well be dead.

22. Today I discovered that Trinity likes nutritional yeast on her kibble.
It tastes vaguely like what I vaguely remember cheese tasting like. Cats often like cheese, so maybe that's why. Anyhow, it's supposed to be good for her so why not?

Later on I think I might see if she fancies a can of tuna, maybe then she'll get over me dosing her up and we can be friends again.

19. I grabbed some chinese earlier
I am a bit hungry. Maybe I'll see if I can have sis watch the sleeping rugrat and run up and get a burrito, that being the only vegan take-out option after 9 around here, which still puts me well ahead of most places.
