How do you post photos?

Right mouse click on a picture on a web page. Then click Properties with the left button.

Where it says "Address:" look for (without the quotes) "http://www. website.com/directory/file.jpg" or "http://www. website.com/directory/file.gif". Use your mouse to highlight that text. Then hit CTRL-C.

In DU, post a new message.

Hit CTRL-V.

The "http://www. website.com/directory/file.jpg" (without quotes) reference appears in the post.

Click the Preview button and the image will load! :party: :bounce:

Now some websites won't let you use the right mouse button. x( So then click on View and then Source on the webpage holding the image. This is where it gets tricky as webpages use lots of graphics. The easiest way here is to, in the source code, search for some text that's located next to the image on the webpage. When you see the text, read backwards until you find "http://www. website.com/directory/file.jpg". Then highlight the path and do CTRL-C again, go into the DU message, and hit CTRL-V. (once you get familiar with web-based paths, it gets MUCH easier to find and copy the URLs (http://...)

Do note, I added spaces between www. and // to keep DU from processing the link and trying to show a picture that doesn't exist because the example I used doesn't exist. :D

Nice to know that people've gone there, but what the heck! It's so good, it's worth mentioning twice! Even though I did miss it, though on the date in question I was out of town, so yes I did miss it. :D

And "host" pics locally on your hard drive. I find it to be a hassle, though.

There's several out there, if you wnat to google webhosting you'll find a lot.
I use Iownjoo.com, but it has been sporadic in their service so far (as you can see by the missing pictures). They do at least keep coming back online...
