at a vegan pirate tavern, and a guy there drew my portrait.



This is a different hat, different persona, at a Red Hat Society tea.



The more I look at the drawing, the more it seems maybe he had a bit too much organic beer. Whaddaya think; does it look like me?

It's probably uncool, but this thread DOES pose several interesting topics.

1. PICTURES. The lounge seems to love pictures, or is that a misconception? Does anyone have a picture of themselves in a hat?

2. HATS. I love hats, even though I look like a dork, and I never miss an opportunity to wear one. I would like to see other people in hats. Hats used to be required. The falling out of favor of hats is a sign of the decline of our society. So bring on them pictures.

3. PIRATES. Okay, so maybe Johnny Depp and Disney has kicked this topic into overdrive, but ever since the institution of Talk Like a Pirate Day back in . . . oh, hell, whatever year it was. If you care you can google it . . . but I digress. Anyway, pirates are cool and have been for quite some time.

4. BEER, and the drinking thereof. Another favored pasttime.

5. VEGANS. Not going there.

6. The concept of a Vegan Pirate Tavern. Would this be found in other cities, or is it unique to NW Portland?

I've had that hat since the Eighties.....

Canada's the only place I've been outside the US; we usually go to the East Coast and hang out at the beach with family: Nag's Head, NC. Seems silly in a way since we have perfectly lovely beaches right here on the West Coast.
