Before there was color teevee
they had to write the shows differently than they do now because references to color would be lost on the viewers.

Except they could talk about Lucy Ricardo's red hair because everyone knew she was a redhead.

8. TV was so rare when it first came out that there was only one set in my Dad's
hood growing up. All the kids on the block used to go over this one guy's house to watch baseball. And if you didn't stand for the national anthem and hold your hand over your heart, he kicked you out.
