The Sofia Coppola film. It's out on DVD.

It's a gorgeous looking movie. It was apparently filmed at the Palace of Versailles. It has gorgeous costumes, and the jewelry and it shows the decadence of the court of Louis XVI. And having modern (well, relatively modern) songs in the soundtrack was sort of fun, I guess.

I just didn't know what the point of the movie was.

1. It's about this lady who loses her head because she ate birthday cake.
I'm pretty sure.
Something like that, anyway.

4. That pretty much sums it up.
:-)

Although you don't see her or Louis being beheaded.

11. "See Paris and die."
That's what they say.
When you've seen Paris, you've seen it all, I guess.

13. the best part there, to me
to Me, was after we saw the palace and it's gardens we walked to the villagey buildings and courts behind it. Once we rented bikes but once we just walked it I think. There's acres of neat old houses and gardens, sidewalks all through it.

16. It was in the 80's
Errr...from what I can remember, flight to London, train to Folkestone, ferry to Boulogne, train to Paris, bus to Versailles, bus to Nice, bus to Monte Carlo, bus to Geneva, bus back to Paris, and then a flight back to Toronto.

In the city itself, I walked to where I wanted to go the majority of the time, with the occasional Metro ride. :hi:

8. It's difficult for me to picture Kirsten Dunst in that role
I keep seeing the excruciatingly bad Elizabeth Berridge in Amadeus in my head.
