Bare your soul (or buttocks) here... Tell us your embarrassing secrets.
Mine?

I don't know how to swim. Would drop like a rock once I got into water over my neck. I once completed some swimming lessons, but they didn't take. I feel I am one of possibly 3 or 4 people in the nation that doesn't know how to swim.

When friends asked me if I wanted to go swimming when I was growing up, I always had to make up a lame excuse...

5. I snore.
My baby usually has to sleep in the guest room. Right now she can't because my nephew is visiting, so she woke up with a migraine today because she couldn't sleep for my snoring. :grr: :evilfrown: Short of surgery I have tried every device & "remedy" known to medical science & quackery. I don't know what to do besides the one thing I'm doing, which is a long-term fix that will show no results for a long time.

11. My wife has sleep apnea
and uses a machine to regulate her breathing at night. From what I hear, it can be dangerous, so you might want to check into it with a Dr.

Brookstone yesterday for my wife and me and they are amazing. We both slept the entire night for the first time in years.

Mrs. V. tells me I snore no matter what position I'm in, mouth open or closed, etc. I doubt something holding my nose open would do the trick. But thanks for the recommendation -- it's added to the "last steps before uvula removal" list. :)

And congratulations on finding something that worked for you!

39. The UPPP
or uvula removal does not always eliminate snoring. Even with taking the tonsils, adenoids and soft tissue in the back of the throat.

I know you said you don't have sleep apnea. But CPAP will reduce or eliminate snoring in many cases. Do you happen to remember anything that was on your sleep study report like your Respiratory Disturbance Index?

20. Cat Lovers at DU tend to be either male, female, gay or straight...
which pretty much covers everyone.

BTW, I got my cat to sleep through the night - I just closed all my windows so he couldn't smell female 'pussy' (if you know what I mean)

22. I can't drive a standard shift vehicle very well.
I have tried and tried and for some reason I can't get that proper balance between lifting up on the clutch and stepping on the gas. I managed to get by at one of my duty stations in the navy when I had to drive semi's with bombs and torpedos etc from point A to point B. With bigger vehicles you apparently could be more sloppy but a regular passenger, forget. I don't know why I have this problem and it is embarrassing.

30. I don't have my bachelor's degree yet
I'm also on my third major. I started off majoring in marketing (I was good at that stuff, but it is so NOT me), then switched to early childhood education. I ended up getting an associates degree in that, started to work on my bachelor's, then I got fed up with teaching and started working with postpartum moms and babies. Now, I'm taking classes to get into nursing school.

41. I am too
Unfortunately, my husband is too. Only very close friends who have even messier friends are allowed to come to our house without a couple days preparation. I think that if we had a bigger house and my husband didn't have to work from home and store stuff for his boss, we'd be better. When we buy a house, which will be bigger, I am hoping to be able hire a cleaning person to come in once per week. I don't like to have a place that I am embarassed to invite people over to, but I have a strong cleaning aversion and easily get overwhelmed from it.
