I Saw Only TWO Episodes Of The New "Battlestar Galactica" Mini Series
Two and only two. I was under the impression that there would be more... eight or ten perhaps.

Was I just incredibly UNobservant and lax when it came to programming my DVR? I thought I had properly programmed a "theme" that would catch all episodes no matter what time slot it shifted to.

Or maybe it was suddenly cancelled... or maybe there were indeed only two episodes. I don't know.

I was starting to enjoy it and was looking forward to more.

1. They were just pilots. I think it has been confirmed that it will be

Hip Hip Hooray!

4. Noooo.....
I have just about given up on SciFi (after cancelling the two most well written and acted and exciting shows on cable...Farscape and B5).
I did give BSG a try, but it was just not my taste I guess.
I have even signed a couple of petitions asking for the removal of the current management at SciFi...not that it will do much good. I mean...how can you concider Scare Tactics and John Edwards (the so called pyschic) Science Fiction?

5. Babylon 5
Babylon 5 was meant to go on as long as it did-- JMS--the brains behind it always planned the show as one long story. When it was over it was over. WOrd has it, though, that he might be writing additional plots for more B5

How do I know this? My partner is a certified B5 fanboy-- he just got season 4 on DVD -- I won't be seeing him for a day or two as he's glued to the story. :)

9. Actually.....
I agree it was originally slated for 5 seasons, but I believe at the end of season 3, the powers that be decided that the ratings just were not there, and want JMS to wrap everything up in 4. After much rewritting, he managed to pen an acceptable (well to the powers) end.
Well during seasonm 4 the viewer outrage was able to sway the powers to go back and extend the series top the full 5 year. So the last season was not as good as the previous ones.
Either way, they got a raw deal from SciFi.

BTW, Just got season 1 and 2 for Christmas!!!

13. They Bought Stargate... So Less Money Was Available For Their
crown-jewel series, Farscape.

I liked Stargate better when it was still on Showtime... but I *am* glad that Daniel Jackson returned from the dead.

Ya think Showtime might purchse episodes of Farscape from Jim Henson's company? That would be a decent trade-off.

14. They really got the raw deal from TNT
And Warner Brothers.
It was TNT who bought the series, and decided to give it it's full 5 season run.
TNT proved to be petulant children with the series, wanting more barfights and sex in each episode. This idiocy moved over to Crusade, which they nixed after filming less than half the first season. (They wanted more barfights and a crew member who had to have sex with every alien race she came across. JMS refused, and thus Crusade was nixed.)
SciFi's willingness to pick up the show and broadcast it in letterbox was rather nice of them

7. Scare Tactics... What Nonsense.
Although it would be a pity to have one of their stunts backfire on them, and for someone to be badly hurt... but it's not beyond the realm of possibility that the "victim" could actually KILL or severely harm others.

When you feel you life is in danger there's a LOT of damage that you can do.

Remember the hitch-hiker guy who had the "decapitated head" in the bag? The fellow in the back seat absolutely HAMMERED him... repeatedly with his fist. (Just think what ELSE he could have done with a weapon as simple as a sharpened pencil or a Bic pen.) Or just think how easy it would have been for him to simply SNAP the neck of the hitch-hiker.

It's odd how I --- a person who's known for weird humor and tacky jokes --- finds NOTHING humorous or entertaining about that show. It makes me uncomfortable. It's just horrid.

2. It was billed as a mini-series...
but was actually a pilot, so they did show only two episodes.
I watched the first one, but fell asleep half way through it. Didn't even bother with the second part.

3. It certainly WAS Billed As A "Mini-Series"
... a mini series "EVENT" was the hyperbole (if I recall correctly).

Personally I'd rather see the Sci-Fi channel bring back Farscape.

Farscape Miniseries In Works

SCI FI Wire has learned that production will begin Dec. 15 in Australia on a new four-hour Farscape miniseries, with stars Ben Browder, Claudia Black and others reprising their roles. A source close to the production told the Wire that series creators Rockne O'Bannon and David Kemper are readying a script for the miniseries, which as yet has no air date and no TV distribution deal.
