What's your least favorite flavor of ice cream?
I love ice cream. Just about every flavor. And I love coffee. But I just can't stand coffee flavored ice cream. The two flavors just don't seem to go together. You might as well have ham flavored ice cream. You?

It's funny because when I was a kid, it was my favorite. Nowadays when I have ice cream (about twice a year) it's usually vanilla. It's just a deliciously subtle flavor.

49. Another vote for butter pecan
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 08:21 PM by Awsi Dooger
It's my mom's favorite and when I lived there I would be stuck with it when I'd finished the chocolate chip.

Yuck. I'd always sit down with the butter pecan then a few bites later I'd wonder what the hell I was thinking.

Rocky Road sucks also. I don't like the name or the appearance or the taste.

I've never had a sip of coffee but my brief tastes of coffee candy and coffee ice cream have been generally disgusting.

On edit: how in heck could I forget cookie dough? Horrendous. Luckily I sampled the thread and saw someone else had astutely mentioned it.

58. I love orange sherbet too -- except when it's swirled together with lime, raspberry, and melon
No kidding. A company in my town makes what they call "Rainbow Sherbet", and my suspicion is that they jumble up all the leftovers after they scrape out the machines at the end of the week! I'd have to say that's my least favorite thing, trumping all the ice cream types I can think of. The flavors are all mixed up -- way too intense, and they keep changing around so it's hard to tell what you're eating. And the swirly day-glo colors are also kind of repulsive.

That company recently started making pink grapefruit sherbet, and I predict that they're going to hurl that into the mix as well ("hurl" being the operative word here).

Eating chocolate chip/chunk/nugget/whatever ice cream is like eating ice cream with seeds or something. I don't like chocolate under the best of circumstances, much less when the chocolate is frozen, hard to chew, and tasteless.

I also don't like the current fad of coffee-flavored ice creams.

My favorite types of ice creams generally involve cherries or caramel swirls.

I almost started a thread on this the other day, on how biting into certain things grosses me out and makes me lose my appetite. Raisins, pieces of onion, and the knot on the top of an avocado. Once I bite into things like that I feel almost too grossed out to eat any more.

... than for someone who straight-out admitted that s/he loathed ice cream. (Whenever there's a profile of a prospective presidential candidate, it seems that the "what's your favorite ice cream flavor" question shows up more often than ones about actual policy issues ... and pols on both sides of the aisle are careful to get photo-ops of themselves eating ice cream or anything similar.)

Case in point:

Complaint about the cost of Bush's frozen custard photo-op:

"Fourteen thousand dollars is a lot of money, especially if it's for a frozen custard cone. That's how much it cost the City of Oshkosh to protect President Bush when he campaigned in Northeast Wisconsin last month. Oshkosh wasn't even on the president's list of planned stops. On the way from Fond du Lac to Ashwaubenon, the president and his daughter, Barbara, stopped at Leon's Frozen Custard for what appeared as an impulse visit (actually, the custard stand was scoped out by Secret Service agents just 20 minutes earlier). Tonight a bill is in the mail to the Bush-Cheney campaign."

56. Bush weighs in on coffee-flavored ice cream ...
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 09:17 PM by Lisa
(wouldn't you know, he likes it)

"Perhaps more disturbing, Bruni also paints a man who is astonishingly shallow and unreflective. Riffing after the election about his upcoming presidency, Bush can't get beyond his genuine fascination with the White House mess hall: "The dessert menu is unbelievable ... esterday at the Blair House we had this, I'm not even sure, coffee ice cream surrounded by this unbelievable meringue, beautiful meringue." And Bruni informs us that well into his first year in office Bush is "still raving about ... little red button in the private dining room off the Oval Office that he could use to summon the butler.""
