Speaking of "pathetic geek stories," here's mine

It was Christmas season of 1971, and I was in kindergarten. As usual, we were singing Yuletide carols. At one point, the teacher said, "Now let's sing 'Joy To The World.'"

But I wasn't yet familiar with the holiday song; the only "Joy To The World" I knew was the rock tune by Three Dog Night. So, as the rest of the class started warbling the Christmas carol, I belted out at the top of my lungs, "Jeremiah was a bullfrog, was a good friend of mine!"

And everyone looked at me like *I* was weird! :shrug:

4. From my days as a bar DJ in the 80s

Old guy asked me to play some Elvis, I put on "Pump it Up". Then there was the woman who asked for "Stand by Me" and was PO'd when I played the Clash...
