1. i loved playing 'big band' and swing tunes...
i played trombone through school, and was never happier than if a bunch of us were just playing around with tunes like "Tuxedo Junction" or "In The Mood"

5. Excellent choice!
Although Gene Krupa, the drummer, is in heaven on that song. I was listening to this tune way the hell up in the Sierras one star swept night after a few loads of Humboldt and I realized that in this song there are contained the first tiny vestiges of what would become the rock beat.
