So who among us has had this awful virus crud going around?
My husband has been very sick since last Sunday. He's had a fever off and on, terrible congestion and cough, and he's been pretty weak. He's as pale as can be. He's kept up with our doctor about it, and he saw the doctor yesterday. The doc thinks it's some sort of upper respiratory virus, because it's really not the flu, and it's slightly different than a cold. Hubby's on mega medication now on doctor's orders, and he seems to be feeling a little better today.

On the down side, I've had a slightly runny nose for the past two days, but I feel fine.

If you've had the crud, have a hug... If you haven't, stay well! :D Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer when you can't wash them. :) It's not foolproof, but it's better than not doing it.

2. I hope you are too!
:pals: Get as much rest as you can. My husband felt much better by Friday, then he started feeling awful again last night. I do hope you're getting over it, though.

3. So far it's passed me by, thank God.
Edited on Sat Feb-17-07 01:03 PM by Prisoner_Number_Six
I say that because my sister had it for over a week, and I see her often. I'm on a very potent medication that lowers my immune system, so in theory I'm more likely to get something like that. I guess the reality is, I have the constitution of a race horse.

I also had my flu shot, for what that's worth (she had her shot too, but it didn't do any good).

5. I've Got It
I had to leave work early on Thursday because of it. Lot's of congestion in my chest and sinuses combined with sporadic coughing bouts that are painful. I've already gone through two boxes of tissues and about eight packets of Neo-Citran. I am feeling a bit better today so I will likely venture out a bit later to the supermarket for provisions.

Couldn't have happened at a worse time though. I had a date tonight which I had to cancel.

29. Sorry you not feeling well, I had a SuperBowl Party planned, but ended
up in the ER, I was so congested I couldn't breath. I had about a week in between bouts where I was feeling half way good, then it came back with a vengence. So don't wear yourself out, get plenty of rest and drink lots of good fluids, like OJ and grapefruit juice. Sure sound like what I had/have.

9. Glad you're feeling better, CP...
 I know what you mean. I've kept my hands as clean as I could and been very conscientious about keeping stuff in the house clean too. I'm not OCD, but I think I've gotten a taste of what it's like. :P

12. There is some kind of stomach virus going around in my town.
It started at the hospital - if you don't need to go to the hospital we are advised not to come until this virus is passed.

10. Me and Dropkid had it a couple weeks ago
I totally lost my voice (that was weird, never happened before) and missed 4 days of work because of it. Te thing that worked best for me was prescription cough suppressant, decongestant, and sleep sleep sleep. Yeah it was totally an upper respiratory thing, I had no chest congestion at all, just a shit-ton of coughing from the post-nasal drip (that's how I lost my voice).

I'd never had anything like it before, so it was even less fun, but it ran it's course in about a week, which was the one nice thing about it.

Give your hubby hugs and a get well soon from the Dropkick household!

18. Moi. I missed 2 1/2 days of work this week because of it.
I'm still coughing and it feels like what is in my lungs is the consistency of glue. In other words, I feel like crap.

20. It started at our house around turkey day and
lasted until well after New Years.

I caught the worst of it but it passed off between the kids as well.

Three - five weeks of hacking is way too much. I hope your man feels better soon and for you Zicam!

22. I honeslty don't know
I had the flu shot, so I know it's not that, but I'm just so groggy, so weak and without any kind of pep or energy. It sucks. And half the day I just have this apathy that makes me want to go to bed and stay there. Bug or not, it sucks.

25. I had viral crud, which paved the way for my poor system to pick up bacterial crud.
I started on antibiotics on Wednesday afternoon, and I'm only just feeling pretty good today. Doctor said I probably wouldn't be 100% for a week. I haven't worked out since last Sunday, but I think I'm going to start back today with a gentle-to-moderate walk.

I hope your husband feels better very soon!

My lungs sounded like they had an angry ghost in them for about a week and a half. Now I can't hear shit except for a constant high pitch ring.
