3. 27 Feb,
I'll be 44. :7

The coolest thing is that he bought this special edition red iPod which supports a cause very important to me, and that he remembered that for many years before I met him, I was a state-licensed HIV/AIDS educator and pre-test/post-test counselor in one of the reddest states in the US. :loveya:

44. It happened a couple of weeks ago.
Usually, he goes out to pee at 4 a.m. and then comes back to wake me up for his breakfast by 5 a.m. But he didn't come home one morning, so I was up looking for him at 5, with a flashlight: into the woods, crawling under the neighbor's barbed wire fence to search his sheep barn, etc. By 11 a.m., Ginger still wasn't home, and I was panicked. On a fluke, I decided to climb up the steps onto the platform beside the seven-foot-tall composting bin (it's really a semi-trailer with an open top) and look inside. And there Ginger was, crying like a baby and huddled under a pile of palm fronds. I found two farmers to help me open the back of the trailer to free him, and he took off for home like a bullet: sprinted half-a mile. :whew: Close call. He's been in there for six or seven hours.

48. Oh, I have a pretty good idea how he got in there.
Because the bin is seven feet tall, there's a platform beside it, so that people can walk up five or six steps and stand on the platform to dump their garden trimmings in. I'm sure Ginger jumped from the platform up to the edge of the thing, not knowing it was open on top. :scared: I hate that this happened, but I hope it taught him to "Look before you leap." He had to learn the hard way about the thin ice on the surface of our koi pond, too. :sigh:

49. Sounds like my cat.
She can get into more trouble, her new name is now Dammit.

She climbed the back tree and was afraid to come down, cried for a few hours.

She did come down on here own.

Dammit does seem to have a death wish with the dogs, she jumps on them when they are sleeping.

Tha is not so smart.

I glad to hear that Ginger was not hurt.

Her full name is Dammit, get off the table.

I am hoping she out grows some of this, she is still a kitten.

She was a long way up the tree, she had to get down on her own.

Dammit did not leave the house for a few days, maybe she learned her lesson.

52. It's weird, but Ginger _never_ behaved like this when he was a kitten.
He started getting extra adventurous a couple of years ago when he found out that he could win a fight with my mother-in-law's big male cat. Since that day, Ginger's has felt like Big Man on Campus with regard to other cats, people walking their dogs down our street, climbing stuff and exploring the countryside. I wish he'd just cut it out already.

My old male cat roamed around but now he just sleeps, old age will do that to a cat.

He as used up all his nine lives, so it is good he stays home.

57. My first cat was black, I remeber picking her out.
She had many cats, one of which gave birth to another black cat that I had for about 15 years.

I had to break the birth sack for this kitten, we were very close.

She had many cats, she was the Queen of the Yard.

Now Tuna is the last of that line, I lost the last female of that line last year.

Dammit is the new line, live goes on.

45. I'm the same way about red
however, this is *so* cool because its so unusual, and you don't see them very often, and a portion of the proceeds go to that aids campaign that Bono and Oprah were promoting, don't they? This is from Oprah's site, talking about your red ipod:

'Next stop is the Apple store, where Oprah and Bono are ready to rock at the same time! The iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED™ Special Edition holds 1,000 songs and a lot of hope. "It is so cute! I love the color. It's the perfect Christmas gift," Oprah says.

For every 10 iPods purchased, one HIV positive child can be treated with pediatric drugs for two months. "This is fantastic! I want 10 of them," Oprah says. "This is going to be a big, big, big hit."'
