Am I in a musical rut?
A few of the artists I've been concentrating on lately are:

John Lee Hooker
Bruce Hornsby
Mary Black
Johnny Winter
Free
Frigid Pink
38 Special
Boz Scaggs (LOTS of Boz Scaggs)
Head East
Canned Heat
John Miles
Marshall Tucker
The Little River Band
Molly Hatchet (The best group on the planet. Ever.)
Poco
Southern Cross
The Small Faces

Although I love 'em one and all, and I have quite a few others in my collection I could turn to, they're all starting to sound a bit too similar. I think I need a different direction. For example, I was in the Starbucks this morning when they started playing some gentle 40s music in the background. Soft and sad. It was great.

I could go for some good swing, some Big Band, hell, even something modern if it's GOOD.

You have to understand that when I listen to music, I LISTEN TO MUSIC. I put my headphones on, put my feet up, put the lights out, and sit back and blot out the world with sound. So it's important that it be rich, sweet, intelligent music.

Any suggestions? Let's talk tunes.

3. I just torrented the entire Golden Earring discography.
Since they've been a group since '65, you know there's a lot to go through. So I know what you're saying.

Guy Lombardo. I grew up listening to this music, it was my Dads favorite band.
